Not sure what they could have done given it was an add on by a luthier. Fill the tuner holes and start from scratch? Strings look mighty close to the edge.
Yeah. They do look close to the edge. But the strings at the edge don’t look much different than a couple Stingrays I tried but didn’t care for. I think a legit 5 eb is better.

Not the case there. Three forced to resign by parents/school board. One “demoted.”

The students rallied to support the first in the chain. The students simply gave up after that.

That's truly sad - part of the bigger picture we're all living through.

I don't know about high-schools, but in upper education being the head (CEO/president/principle...whatever) is a stepping stone job for their careers and they only stay for a few years at best before moving on.
Our church helps teachers in various ways and families in need. The interesting thing I noticed a few years ago is a huge amount of the administration is made up of pretty young adults. At least in elementary schools we work with. One young lady became a principal and is in no way near 40. I suspect that others were like my experience when in school and the administration was virtually all older people who had taught for many years and worked their way up. (Those that wanted to, anyway.) Even my neph only taught maybe 4 yrs before becoming an assistant principal at a boys catholic HS. He's literally a boss of teachers he had when there. Not that it can't or shouldn't be done, its just very different from when I was in school.

Before the black nylons.

Love that rig!

I've never liked 4+1 5'r hs's. It looks club-footed on a Fender - and worse on a T-bird. 5 on one side or 3+2/2+3

agreed, but even 2 bass side/3 treble side bugs me. 3/2 is (to me) perfect:

The Ric 5 is really the only 5 I have ever cared for. For me, the string spacing is just right, and this one does a good job of sounding like a Ric, once I found the right string set. Happy accident, I was having trouble liking this bass. Pro setup, the factory Ric strings(45,55,75,105, the std 4-string Ric set, plus a random 128, I think), but just not liking it. I decided maybe some flats could be cool, maybe a bit stiffer string for the slightly shorter scale could help. So I had ordered an EBCF set for it, but, by my own mistake when ordering, ended up with the EB Cobalt rounds. So I put them on, and there it was, all of the sudden, it was perfect! Nice ringing Ric-like tone, better string tension, just better.

And exactly why i can’t wait to leave my job.
With many other reasons as well.
I'm a freak around here. I like my job most days. It pays well, and all I have to do is know what I'm talking about and tell the truth. Some days can be a pain, because clients are humans. Humans have issues, but the great thing is that their issues are ultimately not my issues.

Only problem is that it can be really time consuming. There's a reason (aside from inertia) that I don't get a lot of things done.

If I wanted a 5er, a 2013 or 2014 EB would be what I would go for. They are more expensive than they were, but still far less expensive than anything comparable.
