Thunderbird Club

Real Rock Star.

Glen Campbell playing a Fender VI. This is one of his best tunes IMO even though he didn't write it.

My all time favorite pop song - TSC play it. Paul & I doubled the solo - I played my '68 Coral Deluxe Bass (Dano made) as his bass-player played a Dano Longhorn on the vid below. One of the guitarist is playing a Silvertone (Dano - possibly a baritone) but Glen plays the lead on his Strat.

Same here. Teachers are leaving the profession at a great rate, including those in their first years.
My wife is now working as a lawyer, and my daughter is now a school councillor. Both did additional study (of course) in order to start new careers but a guy I met recently left to take up a franchise in something completely different.
My dream is to open “Poppy’s Famous Ribs.” I make great baby back and beef ribs. It’ll never happen.

There's twice as much and then there's twice as much. When you are buying something really expensive, that's one thing. When it's something that's relatively inexpensive overall, it's another thing. I prefer spending more to get exactly what I want if it's within the realm of reason. If the exact same thing costs twice as much, then it's not worth it. It's all a trade-off and dependent on whether you have information or not.
Yep. $40 or $80. Not a lot of difference in the overall scheme of things. That’s why my goal of getting all my Thunderbirds dialed in the way I want them to look is taking time. But it’ll be worth it in the end.

Need some beer? ;)
If I do it, it’ll be a food truck thing. I’m not sure you can sell beer here out of one. I need to research that. But yeah. We could partner up. Two retired guys cruising the California Central Coast and Central Valley from San Rafael to Santa Barbara and Tracy to Bakersfield with their food truck and Thunderbirds.

I get it, but when I retire, I'm not going to go work in a restaurant.

Possibly become a Docent at the Museum of Flight, yes.

We have a crises throughout the country. It is really bad in California. Many don’t last long enough to even think about retirement.

…and this makes me really wonder what the future will look like. I’m actually glad I’m old. And really glad I don’t have young kids. No one wants to teach because of all the sensitivities and parents enabling and all the other reasons kids don’t seem to have an ounce of respect for themselves or others. Not to mention, I’d guess less and less people are willing to consider police man/woman as a career. The political climate is worse than the actual climate which is getting scary…

I need some live in the moment/don’t worry, be happy pills.

But, I prefer to not take meds…:banghead:

I learned over the years doing high-end Decorative Painting for afluent people, if they feel the price is too low - they will not go for it because they expect it to be expensive and will pay whatever that is for something 'high-end'. Of course, one has to then deliver that 'high-end' - but I never had a problem doing that.

I was going to be a teacher. I went to UCI. I have a History degree. I went to the proper department as I was planning my junior year courses. The counselor there told me that since I didn’t speak Spanish, I would never find a job in California. This was ‘78. Turned out that she was an idiot. I would have been a great teacher. Instead, I became a lawyer. Made a lot more money, but I’ve never felt that what I did was meaningful.
