@TBird1958 Bummed I missed the get together this weekend! I had all my stuff packed up and ready to go Saturday and then ended up spraining my ankle that night! The doc at the hospital said it was one of the worst looking sprains he'd ever seen, not that that made me feel much better about missing the party.
That does look good. And Ric pick up(s). And bastard bird in the good sense - like when people say angry piano.Whaddya mean "they dont look good on a bird"?.......and whaddya mean bastard?.View attachment 1123656
Do Shark Fins count?

The upper and lower teeth are mirror images, so I would say still teeth. So teeth then?![]()
We were highly discouraged from contact with that Devil's music mind, it all being about 'nothing but drugs'.
There was always music in the house, starting from before our son was born. He was listening to Duke Ellington from the beginning. He had no way to avoid it! And, my wife loves to sing to herself when she does all kinds of things. She's off key, but she's singing. I wasn't playing much when he was little, but there was usually music from records or the radio. We would listen to music and read instead of watching TV. Sometimes being a little odd pays off.
That looks great. I like the green. Perhaps I should look for a green bird. Or maybe have one refinished to green...
I tried a Kelly Bird a few weeks ago (as @godofthunder59 had suggested that it was a lot of bass for the money). The looks are good, but the body felt thick and the neck was like a baseball bat. I much prefer the feel of the `bird neck thru neck.
It isn't all about drugs. Some of it is about sex.
Indeed. I get most of my overdrive from my Mesa D-180. Although I do have a custom fuzz that I kick on when I need more.I do too! I think of the built in fuzz/dirty sound as me having a foot switchable option, if needed.
Not having to use stomp boxes which I found killed my low end, dragging a second amp around to handle the dirty sound when used intermittently, extra cords that seem go bad at the worst possible time, batteries/power supplies, pedal boards were all things I was happy to give up.
Crowns would look great. Same with trapezoids.I never liked the dot inlays on the fretboard. If you could have any style, what would you have? I'd choose the trapezoids or none at all.
As it should be.There was always music in the house, starting from before our son was born. He was listening to Duke Ellington from the beginning. He had no way to avoid it! Yeah, I mainly think Rickenbackers. Cause I'm biased. When I think sharkfin I think like Jackson Rhoads style with the curve to it.
But different strokes for different folks, I'd rather trapezoids on a Bird
Eh, I think it's good that they're rounded off. Matches the rounded off points of the T-bird's body, you know?Although the more I stare at it the more I like the triangles (Ric Teeth) on a Bird. They need a bit more of a point on them though
My parents enrolled both my sister and me in piano lessons. My sister stuck with it. I didn't. I later took up trombone and played that for much longer, all through college even. Started playing bass in 8th grade. Been playing ever since. My mum attempted to teach me the piano when I was quite young, something for which I showed less than zero interest or aptitude* and which which was a severe disappintment to her. The parents were very surprised when I expressed a desire to learn the 'cello a couple of years later, but it's a matter of choosing the right instrument innit? My sister is an oboe player, aka 'duck strangler', although she learned the piano also. We were highly discouraged from contact with that Devil's music mind, it all being about 'nothing but drugs'.
*When I have no interest, I go out of my way to have no aptitude, just to hammer the point.
It's all about the ratio of talent to gear.
Indeed.
Sometimes sex, drugs, and blood. All at once.
