Every sound clip I've heard it sounded more like a warmer, nicer samamp. I love my GKs so I'm not looking to change that main sound ya know?Agreed, me neither, but it was great before it was pushed into those territories.

Wilko Johnson was a Blockhead for a while.
Interesting. I don't see the B3K as fuzz at all. It's overdrive, which you can turn up as much or as little as you like. But I prefer the A/O. It makes the Thunderbird growl.I saw you talking somewhere about DG pedals. I tried a b3k, didn't like it as I dont like fuzz. I am becoming interested in the A/O pedal. Seems like that could work for me. I can't get the same clear tone from the birds as my pj basses (obviously). I have tried alot of different things, esp pickups, maybe now I might try a new pedal.
Both my B3K and A/O compliment the GK really nicely.Every sound clip I've heard it sounded more like a warmer, nicer samamp. I love my GKs so I'm not looking to change that main sound ya know?
Really? I didn't know that, and I was a big Wilko fan back in the days when he was a member of Dr. Feelgood.
I'm thinking Peter Gifford.Any Midnight Oil fans here?
Who was the bass player on Read About It?
He is just tearin it up!
Seems you generally post about pretty much anything you don't like or agree with. Just an observation...
Because you only notice when I do post, and not all the times I just scroll past.
If people would prefer I not post in this thread, I can leave.
OMG - fell behind on this thread and had to speed read through about 10 pages to catch up, unfortunately speed reading negatively effects my comprehension and retention (of course, the bottle of wine didn't help much either).
As best I can recall, Olivia Newton John wears tight leather pants to hide her BK3 (which I think is some kind of fuzz with Grease on it) but somewhere along the way to LA she slipped and sprained her ankle and missed the Seattle GTG where she would have hooked up with Veronica to hit a few Broadway musicals that she and her dad used to listen to while playing keyboard with mom. The family was sidetracked by a craigslist ad for a '76 Bird and a very rare double cutaway LP EB from 1971 (of which only 7 Ebony ones were made and a lucky soul in the club has four). One of the musicals they wanted to see starred Ian Dury and was about sex and drugs and rock-n-roll where he played the part of Dr. Feelgood wth a Dunwich pedal that made his fuzz even thicker than Olivia's.
I think that about sums it up.![]()
Pretty sure it's Peter Gifford. He's no longer with them. I saw them a few times in the early eighties with a buddy (who was friends with the drummer) who worked for Capital Records. One of the best live acts out there. They are touring this year.Any Midnight Oil fans here?

You have the middle one set higher than the larger rear two and it's still pulling them out?argh, I tried to woodglue the studs on my epi classic pro into the Body with Wood glue. twice. they always pull out again. I am SO Close to throwing a Fender-style Bridge on that bass...
