If it makes you feel better, I’m likely selling this in the next few months…

…to buy a truck. Looking for a really nice early 1970’s Chevy short bed. Anyone here in the market for a near mint, low mileage, bone stock, no issues 1997 911?
How many of those have you gone through? Purdy...Marshall, it's BLUE!

The Vanquish runs a bit more. I see a 2015 for about $140k. I agree, truck prices are nuts. Fortunately, I got my 2015 in 2018 when the market wasn't completely crazy. Only $30k for the GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab with matching shell and only 30k miles and in perfect condition. 5.3L with a 9,000# towing capacity. Once supply chain issues hit during covid, used trucks were going for $50-60k.

While not an Aston Martin or McLaren, I did have a "race car" for over 20 years. It was fun, but constantly fixing things that broke at the track got to be a drag.

Sounds like my boat owning experience. Seems like every time I took in out I found something needing to be fixed. I got tired of enjoying boating/fishing. That was decades ago. Can't imagine how much time I reclaimed by getting rid of it.

Looks like you utilized all usable space.

Since it blue...I know a guy out your way. ;)

You have Family nearby, yes? Come visit them for the weekend and you can play that bass. The more I think about it, I realize that Orvilles/Epi Elitist are actually one of the best Birds out there as a starting point - I think they need a rewire and better pickups to be great.

I have no idea of the age of those, they're not all that magical to my ear. The SD pickups are really nice, any of the better quality vintage repro pickups are very similar to each other in how they sound - we're splitting some very short hairs.

Red Sun Ruin last night at Winters' Tavern - they rocked (to a packed house!)

Pic's thanks to my Pacifica friend Rick Reese - check out his ongoing blog on Bay Area and otherwise music - Rick Rees from The Non-Writer <[email protected]> Rick is a metal and prog guy and helps keep me straight on the nuances of rock, hard rock, metal (in its many varieties) and haunts Winters' to discover cool obscure bands that play there from all over the world. I missed it but last weekend Dick Dales son Jimmy played there with the drummer & bass-player who played with his dad before he passed away. Rick said he thought he was actually a better guitar player than his father! His vid below -

Shoehorn mechanic...not much room under the hood to start with. Had to go with a small battery to get the alcohol injection tank to fit under the hood...most repairs or upgrades were knuckle busters. I don't miss that.

That post got tapped a couple of times, but you definitely have to remain aware of it. My other band will be there next Sunday during FogFest and that place can get crazy during that, it will be a 7ender on the menu that day!

I was seated at the end of the bar near the entrance and kept looking at his hs veering around that post. It's also where I stand (left of drummer) playing there and do my best to avoid it! I do smack my mic boom now & then...

I've played Sat night FF over the years w/both bands and it definitely gets crazy. Fog Fest is a big deal in Pacifica and people party-down. FTR, Sunday is more low-key in general so I'd say you'd probably be ok playing any of your basses then.

Last year at FF...

You scare me when I see you with BG or TSC. I normally sit in that same spot.

That practically naked guy on the left looks exactly like one of the drummers we used to have back in Portland.
Scary resemblance
