If this were a burst, what would a decent price be?
Just posted this in the Luthiers Corner:

We do "Tennessee Whiskey" in our group. My Sunburst 67 NR sounds just fine on it-and everything else.Yes indeed.

Not the same bass--but Craig (Guitar Broker listing) was interested in the one being discussed. Not sure who bought the white one from Craig in the expired Reverb listing.
Who keeps kidneys there?Still checking the couch cushions.![]()
I wouldn't/can't buy such a bass, but if I did, I would either do it as an investment (unlikely a good one at my age--maybe any age), or buy it, insure it like crazy (given I could pay for such a bass), and play when I wanted. Neither scenario do I need to worry about. This is just crazy to me. You'd pay this much for this thing and never want to risk taking it out of house. In my opinion, why bother? If you want that, get a similar thing, have a luthier replicate it for a fraction of the cost, and rock out.
Much less. There was a '64 at Gruhn's for $18k. But it's been there 6 mo or so. I suppose no one has clue how many white or blue early 60s Thunderbirds were made, unlike the 70s reissues where that is generally known. Out of the 700 or so it could be 3 or 30. I would think not a lot and likely way less than 100.If this were a burst, what would a decent price be?
I'm sure. When I got to see them the white Thunderbird didn't make the trip as it was a there and back home thing, but a burst did and was used on White Horse (first song), and one or two others but don't recall which songs. We do "Tennessee Whiskey" in our group. My Sunburst 67 NR sounds just fine on it-and everything else.
There's even an orange one. Perfect!can’t believe I got gifted this……

Well, we know of two.Original finish. And as you say, incredibly rare. Who knows how many out of a reported 718 IIs shipped in the 60s.
More than most of us would consider reasonable. If this were a burst, what would a decent price be?
I Would Rather Go Blind is the original. So that's what bands I play in have done in the past. It helps to have a female singer with serous pipes, though. We do "Tennessee Whiskey" in our group. My Sunburst 67 NR sounds just fine on it-and everything else.
The little railcar would be an absolute blast. This is a guy I follow on FB, he rides this little powered railcart on various abandoned lines, this one is near Santa Cruz. The same tracks travel thru Capitola and you can see them on the bridge in this picture of some troublemakers.....

I guess it would be almost the same distance if you flew West instead of East.Today's flight path hitting the highlights of Ukraine and Iraq. A slight departure from the normal Russia and Iran. I'll let you know when to stop posting.
