For someone who wants one, and if it’s in excellent condition, he may not be a gouger. Just optimistic. A gouger is the shop in L.A. asking $699 on eBay for one without a case.As I thought. The case adds $100 or so I guess. Just another gouger pretty much. He said since they're not making them anymore it's worth more. Lol.
"The second was a lady in the typical SS look." I read it that the lady was (dressed) in "the SS look", as in her outfit? I just wondered what a typical SS "look" looked like.If I saw a lady dressed like this standing next to a Cyber truck, it would make sense visually.

You mean aluminum and moron don't you? They’re aluminum and boron.
And you are a professional grudge-keeper.Nope, conservative attire. No salacious comments about my daughter. I know where most of you live.

Great pics! I can almost hear the music.Yesterday I did a reunion gig with my old band Superfloor in LuxorLive, Arnhem.
De band faded out like a night candle some 12 years ago. But yesterday we were on fire again ;-)

Prices are lower on local listings, CL and the like. Main problem is that a lot of them are pretty beat as the finish really shows scuffs and scratches. And the majority of them are older and weren’t necessarily well cared for. Heck. A first run ‘04 could even be considered “vintage.”
I prefer the Blackbird to the Goth. Much rarer with cool neck inlays, clear pickguard, and the conversation piece Optigrab.
I agree. If in good condition w/HSC - he'll get that asking price. Some buyers don't dig very deep when seeing something they want. For those who do , sure.., eventually you'll find "a deal" if you look long enough. If I see something I want and know it will sell quickly, I'll offer something a bit lower and usually they accept. I'll do the same selling my basses. For someone who wants one, and if it’s in excellent condition, he may not be a gouger. Just optimistic. You can hear it on fb!Great pics! I can almost hear the music.
very pretty! The control layout is the cherry on top.
The foolishly named 64 Thunderbird has a bit more angle on the neck, requiring a higher bridge. I can’t recall hearing any problems with the possible exception of a tailpiece pulling up - but I can’t recall for certain if it was the 64 or a recent Jack Casady or what. I would keep an eye on the tailpiece to be safe.Hello all, today Zzounds delivered my purple flake Epi Thunderbird. I ordered it a couple months ago, and it was put on backorder until now.
My first thought was how cool it looked, but upon further inspection, it appears to me that the bridge is rather high off of the body. to the point of being slightly tilted. the breaking angle from the tailpiece to the bridge seems to be pretty extreme.

I have a black Epi Tbird, it's the version before the 64 bird, I got a deal on it due to it having cracks at the nut. The string tension keeps the cracks closed and I haven't had the time to repair it, but it plays fine as is. It is currently in my bass storage, so I haven't been able to compare it, but I feel that the black bird plays better. I may be wrong.
Also, as I was taking pics, I found cracks on both sides of the neck. Nothing horrible, but they are there.

The neck has an underbow (strings are closer at nut/body, higher in the middle of board), I am a builder/tech, but I do not want to touch it until I'm sure that I'm not going to return it.
Honestly, the cracks at the nut are not a deal breaker, I'm more concerned with the height of the bridge. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
I’m pretty picky. I’d send it back if I received that one. The cracks would bother me too much to let it slide. I know the latest version of those has changed the neck angle. If I couldn’t get the low action I like, I’d send it back for that reason too.Hello all, today Zzounds delivered my purple flake Epi Thunderbird. One of my early VPs has those cracks at the nut. I got it really cheap and kept it. Like your situation, strings keep the crack closed and it doesn't gap if strings are removed. Benn that way for several years and it hasn't gotten any worse. But I would definitively point all this out to seller and see if you can get some discount your way.Hello all, today Zzounds delivered my purple flake Epi Thunderbird.
