Happy Thanksgiving y’all!

Question:

Is .02 mfd the same as .2uF?
No..... .02mfd is either .02 millifarad which would equal 20uF or .02 microfarad which would equal exactly that (.02uF), the case (upper/lower) in the lettering makes a difference, a photo of the cap would help....regardless, they are not the same thing in either instance ...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Here are a couple of shots from last weeks gig:

Happy & Peaceful Thanksgiving folks.

TIL that external Aust Territory Norfolk Island celebrates Thanksgiving due to the numbers of American Whalers that used to base themselves on the Island in season.

That was after the Pitcairn Mutineers had settled there utilising the buildings, carts etc from an earlier Penal Colony. Ain’t history grand?
(One of my great great grandfathers did a stretch there. Once they arrived in Sydney he clobbered an Overseer and got sent to Norfolk. Well, he was from Manchester…)

I’m using a couple sets of older EMG active P-bass pickups in a current build and they (EMG) say I need to use 25k pots and a .2uF cap. Just trying to order the right value cap. PLS has caps as .02mfd. If they could only standardize how they express the value, uF or mfd?!?

although these are standardized (MKS, SI and other systems), "mfd" is not only not valid because the F should be uppercase since it denotes a last name (Faraday), but also because the notation system had evolved chronologically to where by the time EMG started publishing tech docs, the micro (uFd instead of mili) became the the preferred method of labeling the specific capacitance value.... hope this makes sense?
if not, either PM me or send a link to the doc and I can recommend a few choices if you'd like...

You might need to contact them to clarify.
