The new to me Jackson got some exercise in band practice last night. The guitarist loved it. It is a whole lot louder and woolier than a Thunderbird because it is active and I didn't adjust the amp volume. He thinks that means it has more sustain. *shrug* I don't think it sounds great, but I haven't sorted out strings or what the preamp really does yet.
It has a three band EQ, a blend knob, and a volume knob. I can't say that I have spent enough time with it to know where any sweet spots are with the sound. It dives like a Stuka! The upper strap button has to move to the heel of the neck. I'll be drilling a hole in the neck plate to do that sometime this week. The chip in the poly is getting slowly filled up with more poly, although the way it chipped means that I'll eventually have to sand the original finish flush where it came up. I thought about trying to glue it an clamp it down, but the usual project speed around here meant that it would never happen.
I think it has Fender strings on it. It could use brighter strings to overcome the wool a bit. If I can get the balance to work, and as long as the guitarist likes the way it sounds, I'm OK with it. It's not a Thunderbird, and it sure doesn't sound like a Thunderbird, but it will do for this band. I thought I would hate the flattened out neck, but I'm finding that it works really well with the extra string. My fingers got a little confused by the extra string for a while. It should be easier once the balance is sorted.

Mosquitos, humidity, poison ivy, just for starters. I'll put up with the occasional earthquake. As far as taxes, that's just the price of living in more or less paradise out here in the great north wet.
Until Rainier decides to provide a pyroclastic flow...
But property taxes will go down...

The way the geography works, if that flow goes west, it will end up going through Tacoma, about 30 miles south of Seattle. Seattle ought to be spared to a point, although if that happens, there will be some pretty big logistic messes to deal with. It could also go in a different direction. It depends on where it vents and whether it explodes or just oozes like volcanoes in Hawaii seem to do. Rainier is not extinct, just not especially active for now. I'm perfectly OK with not worrying about it and enjoying the lovely gentle rain we are getting for the next few months. And the landslides that inevitably happen this time of year. You would think humans would eventually learn that mud flows at certain times every year and stay out of the way, but we ain't real bright as critters go.

Or up. Less property to tax. Somebody has to pay the bills. But, I sure won't worry about it much.
Why you don't hire an out of State superintendent for your California schools. He ordered the evacuation of 2 elementary, 2 middle, and 1 high school due to a 3.7 quake that was not particularly close to any of those campuses.

Hello.. I’m might be bringing a question that repeats multiple times.. i have tbird pro pickup that has 3 wire on them.. my question is what is the red wire do? Is it going to the battery? Or coil split?

The lack of really annoying, bitey bugs and critters is one of the many pleasant things about Washington. The lack of humidity allows for a lot more Queening around too, plus Cargo Shorts at a gig doesn't happen!

think I found my retirement spot....for years heard of all these exotic spots (South Pacific, Caribbean, FL) and confirmed their weather sucks either by living there or visiting....truth is, when you get used to CA weather (Med weather can come close) it's hard to go back......that said, Los Barriles on the Sea of Cortez features many east coast/Caribbean benefits without the downfalls....warm water, sunrises on the ocean and minimal humidity.....truly the best of both worlds imho....The lack of really annoying, bitey bugs and critters is one of the many pleasant things about Washington. I was recently telling my wife how much I miss the Enchirito.
When I was a kid and we visited Phoenix for the first time, I won a t-shirt from El Taco that said "It's an El Taco Takeover" and had their logo on it. Seems like 1,000 years ago.
