Looks to be the same as my '64 (and where I put on the '66NR).

That's never been a problem for me, but mine is about 1 1/2 on my '64. I've seen them way up close to the top of the bout, but I've never needed to fix one tilting forward. But I've played one since about '82, so it all feels normal to me.SO on my Epi bird, how far should I move the strap button at the tail end, in order to keep the body from falling away?
Right now I am running the strap over the bout.
Mine too. That sure is in nice shape, Dave. Much better than mine.
You can't see it? I can from here. But I'll give you a little something for it so you aren't completely hosed with it.Thanks. I can't wait to allow you pro player types to take a shot at it. @JIO already did at Winter's. I bought it at a "reasonable" price by today's standards as it was advertised as a neck repair. I can't really see it and neither could Geo. So, either a mistake on an estate sale or a really top notch repair. She is a beauty for 61 years old. The OHSC is in good shape too, though I wouldn't use it for transport.
Me too. I've seen them a few times over the years - first time in the late '80s. At each show I bought Kirk's original artwork T-shirts and still have them. They are "vintage" now.Always loved the Meat Puppets. I got to see them play live in a tiny club in Albuquerque many years ago.
That never really worked great for me, but I've done it.never liked how a Bird feels using the behind the heel strap button....need it up close to feel the body vibrate....

Best, simplest way to address neck-dive. WW also...SO on my Epi bird, how far should I move the strap button at the tail end, in order to keep the body from falling away?

not a fan, don't like the "band aid" look..of course ymmv...guess neck dive doesn't bother me as much...
If I come out and there is a decent earthquake, I would make my own "beer" color liquid right then and there.Hey, Donnie, come on out and help me see my mistake. We've got tbirds, fog, earthquakes, turkeys, deer...I meant beer.![]()
whatever works best for each & every playernot a fan, don't like the "band aid" look..of course ymmv...guess neck dive doesn't bother me as much...

It's not so bad - sort of an earth-based amusement park ride...If I come out and there is a decent earthquake, I would make my own "beer" color liquid right then and there.
Keep me in the loop please.Turns out our second baseman (geezer league) is the bassist for a touring LS tribute band. I said he has to play a Thunderbird. He does, an 89. They play a gig in Hollister in early 2026. I need to get the dates.
He could have slid it farther than that.FedMess is improving. Two boxes recently were about 7ft from the street and maybe 25 from the porch. The guy is getting better. Made it about twice as far this time. A little more practice and this young dude will have it down and make it to the porch where the directions indicate.
As can be seen, it's strategically place on the sidewalk so if another delivery person is carrying an arm full of boxes they will only have a 50/50 chance of tripping over it....
And we were able to leave a "how was your delivery" review. On top of that, I'd be willing to bet the dude doesn't think he's paid enough.
(Ignore the landscaping which will be redone.)

In my SF neighborhood (emphasis on 'hood') that would be like saying "hey porch pirates.., you don't have to walk that far from the curb"FedMess is improving.
