Right there with ya.
Some private (primary K-6) schools in Sydney now enforce that the students only have flip / Nokia style phones (and only use before and after school.)

So we had our Christmas recital for the seniors group thing I go to a couple of days a week. We recently started a singing group, had 4 fortnightly sessions before today. About a dozen women and two guys, me and another bloke.
Anyway they got us up for two songs.
The Rose (Bette Midler) and I Am Australian (The Seekers). It went off well.
Afterwards we had lunch at a local pub. Had a few people comment on the singing and my singing. Then just as I was about to leave for home a lady (from the French class I take) came up to me.
“I didn’t know you had a good voice” , oh thank you I said.
“Yes, we could really hear you coming through - you should sing in a Country Group.”
I just thanked her again and wandered off wondering if that was a backhanded compliment!
(I am Australian is folky, maybe some would say Country - I guess that’s why she thought that?)
(Plus I don’t mind Country (well some of) so I’d be happy enough with that. It’s just not something you hear everyday, getting specific like that).

You had this bass? I love everything about that bass - it's what I lusted after as a 13 yr old! Nearly bought one at one point but hesitated and it sold.

I do this on all my basses. This placement of the rear strap button causes the bass to pull to the right, bringing the "money section" closer to center. There's less reach necessary for the left hand, and hand posture is easier and more natural.
(I generally put the button about in line with where the 'sweet spot' pickup would go, like on a P-Bass... It's around 8-9 inches from the top left screw of the heel plate on a bolt-on bass. The example pictured might be a little less than that, but the neck dive on a long scale EB-3 is pretty bad!).
Also, and to the point here, it prevents the bass from wanting to lean forward and away from the player...
Ugh! I wish.
Just scored a cool job which I start on Tuesday.

Ancient history, a shot of the band playing at Seattle's Fenix Underground around 2005 or so, we're opening up for Burning Hearts Burlesque, the girls onstage with us are the " Stage Kittens" that follow after the performers and pick up the various items they strip off.

Yes, I laid it away in '68 and paid for it with newspaper boy $. I sold it in '98 thinking I'd never play it again. I used the money to buy a "real" bass, a Warwick Fortress, which I could never get a decent tone out of and sold. The Vox served me well until I started gigging, and overall it was a nice bass. It had a built in G tuner and a fuzz bass switch.
Agreed. FWIW, I immediately ran outside and we had a short conversation (somewhat louder on my part) about his delivery methods. He apologized.
Many have said it before, but hipshot's ultralite series (both USA or LIC). You can get either Y key (as your originals are in look), or Mini clover (if you want a vintage look but modern feature - it'll fit in line with no knocking between each other like larger clover would result in)

I prefer the look of LIC because they're all shiny chrome, USA does shiny keys but satin posts which i don't like as much.
Or Gotoh GB350 or 707. Difference is 350 is aluminum light weight & plastic button, vs 707 brass all metal build.
My Tbird has the Gotoh 707 in black, & love the look of em.
Man, i love the look of SG basses, but i can't get along with em at all in terms of tone/playing.
Even the deer get closer to the porch than FedMess! The center deer is chewing on a piece of apple isn't deformed or rabid. She's the "mom" and those are her two babies from Spring.
