Thanks V!

Tonight all I have to bring is this:

1972 P-Bass. I’ve had it for years (twice) but never played it live. I bought it in 1994 and had it till 1998 when I sold it to a friend. Fast forward some 25 years or so and he sold it back to me (in a gear swap), and I’ve had it back for 8 years or so.

No amp, no cab tonight. A Mesa TT800 and Mesa 2x12 cab are backlined. The TT looks a little complicated, hopefully the band before us has it dialed close enough.

I always prefer to use my own, because, well, that why I bought it, but sometimes it’s nice to not have to deal with it.

I’m off to “Brittany Down Under” now, in the rain. Gee I hope it’s an indoor event (or the rain stops). Otherwise it’s going to be a waste of a 2hr each way trip 🤣
(Using public transport, parking is merde over Nth Sydney way)

I asked over on the EB/SG thread, quite a bit slower than this one. Played the '69 today, great neck, fun bass. It has a 3-way toggle, Mudbucker/Guild/both. It flats on it, they sound fantastic with a pick, but I'm just a rounds kinda guy. There's not much selection for short scale Rounds, so I'll go with Sunbeams or HI-Beams. It's definitely a keeper.
Here's the cavity:

Not "enlisted swine" but a sailor! That's how one of my first class petty officer supervisors put it-
We had a very cool Commander that jokingly referred to us as "enlisted swine". Great guy. It was all tongue in cheek. in the office we called him by his first name unless there were other 'brass' around.

I coulda, woulda, shoulda had that Thunderbird. When I bought my ‘15 new when there was the GC blowout of Gibsons when Gibson liquidated a warehouse to them, my local had my ‘15 and one of those ‘14s for $999.99 each. I bought the ‘15 on Saturday. I went back to get the ‘14 a few days later and it was gone. I still kick myself for not buying it the same day I got the ‘15.
Kinda like I shoulda bought both 67 NRs. The one I got and the blue one next to it. Could've had both for ~$500(1972), including OHSCs. I'm just not fond of blue for a bass.
