Thunderbird Club

Thanks so much! There’s a room at the house here with your name on it (right next to the Bass room, 30+ Tbirds within arms reach) come on down! SoCal is a completely different world than central or NorCal.

When I go out for dinner the reason I never order Alaskan King Crab or Fillet mignon or prime rib or any Italian dish is that I can do it better and at a fraction of the price, and there’s no limit on the amount I make or serve. Anyone in the club here is welcome to drop in at any time and join in on the food, libations and festivities.

Thanks!

Chuck, you gotta come on down here some time! I have some custom builds that will rock your socks! You and Dave are constantly Jet setting around the globe, sooner or later you gotta land in SoCal.

Florida man! I almost moved to the north eastern coast of your great state. My previous wife really wanted to relocate there, then cancer happened and changed a lot of our priorities. Still a beautiful state with tons going for it.

Absoutely! Haven’t decided on where or when the wedding will be, but if I can incorporate some of the great band talent here in the club at the event I’ll certainly do so.
I'd love to show up for that!

I'd try that.
Chorizo sausage, potatoes, and whatever personal handed-down family enhancements in a spicy, hearty broth, Kale soup is pretty much always a spot-hitter. Many a Portuguese holy Ghost festival gig was punctuated and notched-up with a bowl of that venerable tradition.

Sopas is the go to for Holy Ghost where I grew up.

Shall I send him a C&D?
They have been sent for lesser reasons, so fire one off first thing in the morning--but after you shoveled snow and are in a bad mood. And take your time writing it for billing purposes. Dave has saved enough on the steals on basses to afford it.

Had probably the best Oysters Rockefeller I have ever eaten last week at Oceans44. They were truly amazing!

I’m out of the club currently. I had a Gene Simmons model, which played remarkably well. But the pickups were uneven, and had a bit of a noise issue. Probably my noisiest bass. And the low E was less distinct than the A D G, so it was tough to get usable consistent sounds when recording. It was probably my best playing bass, but when recording I always ended up using a different instrument. Anyone have any insight to this? Did I have a bad one? Electronics broken? Or its just how they sound so like it or leave it?
Have had no issues with mine playing live or recording. No pickup noise and the E string is fine, even in drop D. I tend to use mine with the bridge pickup volume higher than the neck and the tone knobs leaning toward the treble end.

What is your recording method?

The only issue I've had recording is it wasn't with me in Florida at my parents' house when I had to re-record an intro bass track to accommodate new guitar parts.

NBD, occupational hazzard of working at the great great House of Guitars. So a few weeks ago a Inverness 2023 Nonreverse came into the store, I tried to ignore itView attachment 7439296View attachment 7439297View attachment 7439298View attachment 7439299 honest I did but they made me a offer I couldn't refuse, those are not just mere words in my tag line. 🙄😁 but words to live buy. Obviously some 7ender player thought they could tame the unwieldy Nonreverse, better is comes home with me. 😄😎View attachment 7439295
That is how I got my '15 Thunderbird. A 7ender player bought it new. It rejected him and I bought it from him. Looking back, it was an amazing bargain. Gotta love 7ender players who give us great deals.
