It’s funny. With guitars, I lean toward single coils, though I love humbuckers, too. With basses, I lean heavily toward humbuckers.

Not sure as I haven't pulled it out yet, but looks like this. A number of people make them. Even the dirt cheap ones are Alnico 5 it seems. None are expensive. Made for a Strat. I can't tell if it's wired out of phase or one coil gets killed when pushed. Tapping today wasn't conclusive, but it's so small tapping on one coil may make the other pickup some of it. No noise either way, but the volume is really low either way.

Having had my set of tb+, graciously bought from @Ringhammer, i dig em imensely. Not to say the RI 60s are lacking, they are quite different levels of growl/thunder. My 60s RI are going into a proper vintage tbird build i'll undertake sometime next year. This way i can have both a modern & vintage bird :)

I've a feeling this will be me too once i retire later in life. Even now, i still have much to do & im working fulltime.

The older i get, the more i prefer singles in guitars too. Still have humbucker equipped ones too, singles just sound sweeter. Basses, its dealers choice, most are humbucker of different caliber (pbass split, gibson humbucker, stingray, etc.) Some are singles (jazz bass, ric clone, d.a. plexi bass clone) really depends on which i wish to play a given jam/gig.

Now that's a sweet rig all around! Darkstar/Bisonic? How does it sound, i had thought of getting one of Novaks for my D.A. plexi bass clone, but decided against because i'd have to potentially route the acrylic body (which would be a pain).
