I saw Three Dog Night & Paul Revere & the Raiders in the late '60s, and James Brown in the '80s. Wow, you saw The Crazy World of Arthur Brown!

Did you know that Arthur Brown sang on "The Tell-Tale Heart" from the Alan Parsons Project debut album Tales of Mystery Imagination? He has a great theatrical voice.



Of note, he later obtained a master's in counseling Austin, Texas, in 1980 eventually founding Healing Songs Therapy with a fellow counselor, and wrote songs dealing with various clients' emotional issues.

Thanks. Notice any/much difference in tone?

I never played it before it was routed. It’s a neck and body I got separately from eBay, and I knew, once I got the body I would need to do something. Plus, EMG’s…I’d guess they would make any bass they are in sound the same as any bass they were removed from.

Clearly spent a lot on concerts. Should have paid for some bass lessons. But wouldn’t change it. I like good live music.

I have finally joined. My first Gibson bass! I wanted a Rickenbacker but I love it so much, it looks incredible and has this fat / fast feeling, exactly what I wanted (different than my Fenders)

I threw some nice flats on it (labella maybe??) Which fatten up the bright tone and this bass just shreds I can do wild bends all up and down and it is a comfy weight with pretty good balance.
If you can pick one of these up for 1500 or less I definitely advise that you do it, it competes with a Rickenbacker for less money.View attachment 7518973View attachment 7518974View attachment 7518975

Where do you find the time?

I did my daily four hour stint in the yard today, hit the shower, then the shed. Goal for this weekend is to get Beds Are Burning under my fingers. @TBird1958 inspired me. Her vid is great.

Peter Gifford deserves a lot of praise for his bass work during his period in Midnight Oil.
Bones carried the torch very well after Gifford as well. Bones, of course, occasionally brought a T’bird out to play.
