I'm pretty impressed with my Epi T-bird case. Though mine is nearly 10 years old and has been beaten & banged, the tolex is untorn, it's structurally sound, and the interior still hugs the bass quite snuggly in place. I also have a Road Runner case. The interior is not customized to the T-bird shape, but the bird fits in length and width, the sides of the bass are held in place by the sides of the case, and the neck is supported in such a way that the headstock stays off the floor of the case.

Since the new vintage pro coming seems to not come with a case, this will be a good question for me as well.

What I find shocking is the way it's reported. Here or in the UK, a person 'dies suddenly' in 'no suspicious circumstances', ie no details, to avoid 'encouraging' other depressed and vulnerable people.
