A P/HB is a much better sounding bass than a P/J - more bottom.

Less nasal and whiny. I really don't like the sound of a bridge single coil.

Ya know Kat... I've always had an affinity for a white bass with a tort... but you may have just ruined that for me. I will never be able to look at one again without hearing the words "salami & mayo" in my head

How about the "Precision Bass Body Club"?. As long as the body is identical to the Fender P than its allowed in no matter what configurations and abominations have been implemented to it or what brand made it.

I'm back! After being away for a very longtime (i don't think i'll ever catch up from the point i've left off in this club ) My builds are picking up some speed, to get a lot done in the next few months (by december 31st, at least 6-7 projects will be completed).

I hope you guys are doing good, I know i'm getting my strength back to full gear!! Expect some pictures soon. I missed you all!

Unless it is the result of a food fight that broke out, could be how the tort guard got started. Couldnt find a way to keep the salami cured and dried long enough so decided a tortoise shell was similar and would take more of a beating.

AFAIK more expensive than run of the mill synthetic, with a different feel ... and are they hand finished?

Recent Gibsons are Pleked, so I would expect they also spend a bit of time on the nut. For what its worth, the 2015 is outstanding when it comes to all that. I got it second hand, so the original owner may have done some work on it. Who knows, though. I have gotten two of three Gibson 'Birds from people who apparently didn't understand how to set them up. That's one of them.

Actually in today's world we should be more inclusive. My vote would be - any bass that self identifies as a Precision bass is allowed in the club.

Actually, only starting to feel better in the last few days- I had a dreadful sore throat from the moment I gave up. Just starting to ease now- apparently a pretty common side effect of giving up.
Oh and also I have had some significant surgery recently and a big skin graft associated with the removal of potentially very serious skin cancer on the back of my head (the discovery of which was the final straw for the smokes). I have also had 30 years worth of hair cut off my head. God knows how I found the mole in all my hair, but thank goodness I did.
The results of the biopsy of the mole and the surrounding tissue which they took came back last week and they got it all with very healthy margins and no sign of it elsewhere in me, which has raised my spirits somewhat. Maybe a bit of precautionary radiotherapy to come- find out soon. A very active monitoring regime in store for me I believe.

I have started to practice again, which I love. I couldn't play because the graft donor site was on my right thigh where I rest a bass to play it. The donor site gives you hell for a few weeks.

Glad they caught it, and I'm glad you will be among us for much longer than if they had not.
