Yeah, a thorough inspection of the bass in question. It's very comprehensive:

"Salami" tort should be illegal to manufacture (especially now that I call it "Salami Tort")! It's most commonly found on cheap basses, or as a cheap after-market replacement piece, and only resembles tort at all because of the colors chosen. You could pay 50bux or more for a good tort replacement, compared to $15 for a salami vomit special. To me... a good tort on a white bass... ANY white bass... I find to be very attractive. The words "Texas Blues Machine" instinctively pop in my head when I see one. Don't worry... I'm not trying to make any of you agree with me. It's just a "me" thing... but if it's an illness... I don't wanna be cured!

I'm fine with that, as long as there's air conditioning & a T-bird to pluck on...and there he goes off on his own little island.
My 2013 was beautifully built. The frets are so smooth down the neck. Nicest of any bass I've owned.
