The Spector Club is pretty similar to our group. They seem very tight, dedicated to their bass of choice, welcoming of new members, will help each other out when needed, and are very knowledgeable. They are also about as chatty as this group!! I couldn't keep up between the two so I just come in here. I rarely read any other threads on TB aside from this club, classifieds, and a couple of other random threads that I have been following for a couple of years. There is just too much animosity out in the gen-pop and I HATE drama. TB is a great resource for bassists but the drama gets very deep.

We at Thunderbird Club are capable of communicating from within and from way outside of the box without conflict or prejudice and if all hell broke loose between the clubs we will be the last club standing. If I did not own a Thunderbird I would buy one just to hang out here with you awesome folks, Ive said that before. Ive been on TB for a number of months and found a list of clubs that I could and should also belong to and even had to ask for a number and still have not got a reply. Im totaly fine with that, I get everything I need right here. Everybody I need to communicate with is right here, hell I learned more about a P bass in here than numbers of threads Ive read elswhere.

It's all about the diversity.
And everyone here supports that, one of many reasons I love it here!

Unfortunately... there's a plague sweeping over the world. This "disease" apparently strips the infected individual of their ability to control their sense of pride or ego. They develop an unnatural craving for a sense of superiority, which can only come from belittling others. Who better to belittle, than people who don't see eye to eye with you (besides... people who think like you, can be your allies and create the illusion of strength). Common decency and love for one's brothers & sisters, slides off the bottom of the priority list, as they become more and more self absorbed. They lose their ability to admit when they're wrong, accept responsibility for their actions, or apologize for anything... and with the advent of the internet... they don't have to.
What happens when an individual with this affliction, is given the opportunity to voice their opinion of something that is foreign or unfamiliar to them? It ain't pretty... and it'll only get worse if no cure is found.

A considered take - but I don't think there is a 'cure' for what you illustrated. It's been around forever, only to be really seen in it's full scope due to the internet/technology. Before then you could only see it in your immediate community, or as an outsider/tourist when traveling. Couple this widening of vision with everyones awareness of their newfound 'voice'/presence. Further add on powerful laser-focused manipulation/propaganda through that equally benevolent and incidious vehicle. We're just starting to see how huge it's potential for good and, not so good. (evil does exist but it's grossly misused) Pandora's Box - can't un-open it anymore.

The question is, once it has two Thunderbuckers in it, is it a 'Jazz' any longer?

I'm gonna go with "yes". If you put humbuckers in a Strat, it's still a Strat. If you put single coils in a Les Paul, it's still a Les Paul. Add a Jazz pup to a P-bass, it's still a P-bass. I see no reason to break suit. Just my opinion...

Anyone knows a good replacement bridge for the Epi TB Classic?
I quite hate the 3 screw design and the feeling of lost tone with it.
A good on-body bridge would be much better, imo.

Here is a pic of my 2014 with the Babicz replacement bridge. It bolts right on and set up is super easy and the bridge is rock solid. I really like mine.

Even thought it costs about $120 new, I think it is a really well thought out product and while it may not look "right" for a vintage resto, I felt mine helped with sustain a bit and the individual string height adjustments and lock down make it super versatile. YMMV.

Hey Rod, to be honest, there's a few bases out there I like. Dollars prohibit having several.
But I do like a good Precision.

Looks more "right" than the Hipshot, IMO. I did go with the Hipshot though.

Gibson started using the Babicz. The one on my 2015 is very nice.

I'd probably use my 70' P if I was doing a lot of early Rush. Pretty much nails that tone with the Harris sig Duncans. Like a few others here, I'm not too keen on my Jazz. It's a Squier VM '77. Love the way it plays, hate the tone. Maybe time for pickups.

Talkbass is full of inflated, groomed egos who like to dole out condescending heavy-handedness upon the blind side of the unprepared or undefended; humans who have spent too much time alone or in their support groups. Venturing into a convo in the GP about tube amps vs solid-state, Fender vs Gibson, comb-overs vs hair club... it's startling the level of disparaging and arrogance that gets summarily laid down for you to contend with, just because you aren't one of the chosen of their particular clique. Like the internet is a regression-therapy tool for the 50+ crowd...

Here in our little enclave we can generally go on about all these topics and somehow not forget who we are to ourselves, and to each other- there is respect here which promotes the sharpening of ourselves against the whetstone of counsel, not vaunting or debasing in knee-jerk to better sense, that we could benefit from, given the chance. This group fosters respect, a little self-knowledge. That all under the guise of being "that neck-diving bass club who are clearly off their meds", because it's full of independent thinkers. This camouflage works to benefit- we don't get the people who think their Fender is better than your Fender... it's like a quiet little village full of people who get along, and are also well able to stand up to the occasional assault from the GP Horde...

Hell, the planet is full of those people. Leave 'em alone. Nothing but trouble.

Hi, I haven't posted here since I joined, I'm wondering just how much the hipshot bridge affects the sound and tone of an Epiphone t bird classic pro. Does anyone have any experience with them here?
