Thunderbird Club

Irma. Me auld mum is in Coral Gables, staying at a friends' house, who've gone out of town. The house is in a low-lying area- next to a canal- and I'm trying to get her out of there- from my house in Rhode Island. Dunno if the current technology is going to help or not. So I'm not at work yet... kinda wish she's stayed at her own apt building, which is full of people (good) and well up off the ground. ***... mom...

It'll be ok, it's just a pain to have an emergency that you know about, so far away, with your people there.
All the best to you and to her.

Just been here to long, i'm burnt out on this place.
There are times I really miss New York. But, six years or so was long enough to have lived there to know that the people who really love it are also the people who can leave on a regular basis. I wasn't one of those people, and wasn't likely to be one of those people if we had stayed there. Even so, there were little "arrivals" that would happen and everything was exactly as it should be. Those odd transcendent moments seem to be more likely to happen in New York than anywhere else for some reason. They pass quickly. Maybe it was something I ate.

My EB-2 is a lasting momento of NYC. I got it somewhere in the West Village after selling the Free Bass on St. Mark's place and realizing I didn't have a bass to play.

I hear ya, And i remember the story you told about the EB-2, that's great you still have that.
I wish i still had one or two of the Pre-Cbs Precision's i had back then.

It's snowing outside. Managed to find a totally hoofing pizza 5 minutes before the shop shut. There's not a lot going on in the outer suburbs of Queenstown. Might see if there are any Thunderbirds to be found. Probability = 0-ish.

:) and after all this talk about moose!

West Coast calling :D

Oh, if only. My buddy is moving into a bigger house in Morro Bay, plenty of room for this angry New Yorker......................., (i'm really not that angry).
Family and finding work are the biggest hurdles right now.
I really can't see myself spending the rest of my life here.

8AM Monday, eye about 50 miles west of me according to the latest projection.

Cat 1. We'll see! I'll be hunkered down at a friends house, not in the double wide. Putting important stuff in the shop which is more structurally sound...I think.

My brother in Davie and sister in Sunrise (both in Broward County), are taking different approaches. Brother put up the shutters, said goodbye to everything and is on his way to the panhandle. Sister and husband are staying put. She'll be on duty at her hospital job.

Sorry you couldn't convince your dad, Larry. It looks like a direct hit down there. Hope you can your mother to get to higher ground, Count.

Morrow Bay is nice - I thought about it in the late 90's at the hight of the last tech boom (soon to bust) when rents skyrocketed (like now) - but yah, hard to find work and not much going on. I put up with the rapidly increasing craziness here in the Bay Area (for now) because it's alive with culture (art/music/and it's beautiful here). I'm not a recluse and would go stir-crazy in a "sleepy coastal community". Pacifica sorta' useta' fit that description, but it's minutes away from SF.

Stay as dry as you can, Carlo. That goes for everyone in Florida.

Just catching up. Best of luck to everyone either in Florida or with relatives! Just talking now with my cousin somewhere in Broward County.

And what's all this then about lefty's and Gibson. I'm a lefty. But don't ask why I play righty.
Why do you play righty? :-D

You're not missing much Michael.

What am I, chopped liver?
