Had an '86 Fireglo 4003 with nice flamed maple - bought it for $400 w/OHSC. Someone had removed the pu's (it had EMG's) and orig sterio electronic harness. It was also missing the upper pg. (this was the 2 part pg model due to the reversed tr access) It also had the 2 screws screwed into the lower part of the bridge so high-tension strings didn't pull that part up - you can see examples if you google this issue. Before I read about this I thought some DIY person did it - I mean, it looked so gerry-rigged. Anyway, for about $400 more I found a complete '85 harness (on eBay) and bought 2 new pu's and mute screws on the Ric sight. (like G&L, it's cool that you can buy replacement parts from them) I made a white pearl 2-part pg for it and enjoyed playing it for about 2 years. Not my favorite bass but it was a nice option to grab now and then. Since I never fell in love with it - I sold it for a nice profit and haven't missed it for a minute since. They are cool basses, just never bonded with mine.
