That's one bonus of going wireless. You turn off the transmitter. Problem solved. Kiinda expensive relative to a switch, though. If you get along with a leash better than I do, the switch is probably the way to go.

Another thing about wireless - the drummer can't trip over the cord between sets and knock everything over. Not that I have seen this happen...
 
Not at all. That said, I moved it to a new location similar to where the new De Gier Lowlander bass has it (De Gier Releases Lowlander Bass), and the whole thing has improved even more. The neck dive aspect is unchanged (i.e. it doesn’t neck dive anymore due to the upper strap button at the heel block), but now the whole thing is shifted “back” as it hangs such that the first fret isn’t such a reach anymore. I did my best to mock it up without drilling into the body to set a new strap button, but ultimately just went for it. I’m glad I did. It plays more like a Jazz/Precision bass to me now, which is definitely my comfort zone.
Does it also fix the body tilt?

That won't have the same affect as PillO is looking for. He wants active pups, which, when plugged in, the circuit is turns on and drains the battery... found out the hard way a few years ago, I have an Epi Les Paul and put EMG's in it.

Ah, gotcha. Then he does need an on-off switch to turn off the battery. I missed that. Readin' and ritin' an' stuff. Gosh. I was going to say a tuner pedal would do the same thing as turning off a wireless, but that's not going to do what he needs either.
 
Just got a call from Sweetwater. My guy was apologizing for the delay on the VP. Says in a couple of weeks it'll be in........
Over here it’s looking more and more likely to be end of next week. Andertons have changed all the dates on product details pages from December to 15 October. I’m not 100% convinced yet, but if it happens I will be one happy bunny!

Got another question about pickups: What is the relationship betwixt resistance and pickup placement? More specifically, between resistance and tone? Might involve the dark arts of winding coils, magnet types, etc.? How dynamic a thing is this? Am I asking too much for a simple answer?
In as many lay-terms as possible, if you will- I tend to "check out" when I see too many numbers and decimal points. Thanks!

How's this:

The higher the resistance (ohms) the darker the tone and higher the output of a pickup. The closer you get to the bridge the less energy and bass you get from a string.

That's a pretty nice and clear explanation! ;)

The ThunderBucker 66S measures just over 9kΩ which matches the resistance on the pickup EY sell as a 'bridge' pickup (vs the 8k2Ω 'neck' pickup which I never bought). Can't say whether the output on Thunderbucker is exactly the same, but it definitely has a different voice.
