Thunderbird Club

And... I bought some DR Flats and installed those. I had gone to GC just to fiddle about with a few P-basses and some dude asked me if I would buy his $25 gift card for $10. So I turned that into new strings. Now I will have an extra pair of D'Addario Chromes which will arrive Friday. Lol

Oh and they have a ScheckBird hanging up so I played that to. I like that bass! A Bunch.

Yeah its a black quilt top spector rex. I came REAL close to buying it. If I didn't have a deposit going into a new ric and wasn't trying to justify getting that gibson I would probably already have it home :)

Careful with the DR flats. They're stupid high tension, so you're going to have to tweak your truss rod going from the rounds.
I have a set of those on my P at the moment. Still havent decided if I like them or not.

Thanks for the heads up on my truss rod tension. I will check it tomorrow.
That Spec played well. Loved the sound. I bet it would sound real good from the DataBass too. If it is still there in a couple months maybe I will give it a home.

Holy cow you guys are prolific! I was in Vegas for a week on business (luckily, a lot of that was after the hours of the trade show) and have been without power at home for the last four days (supposedly getting fixed today. It better or my landlord may end up perforated). Almost 200 posts to catch up on! I had to resort to using break time at work to catch up.

I was at GC today playin' your spector :-P

Reggae pothead sales girl was trying real hard to get me to buy it lol

He has a pony tail and a beard. No idea if they call him Sean Connery.

Well, they dont lol!
If he was grey haired then that's him.

It takes me awhile to learn names sometimes because I meet so many people day to day, so unless they give me a reason to remember their name, they get a secret nickname until I eventually remember them. Lol

Over there I have:
Reggae pothead salesgirl
Ponytail sean connery
The Grungy Hipster

and
Eddie Munster

and a couple others I can't remember.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not being a jerk or making fun of them, and I'd never say it to them, but it's who they are until I eventually learn their name. (In actual conversation their name is often replaced with "man" or a polite substitution, like "Hey man, how ya been?" Or "hey bro, do you have a cable so I can try this spector? ")

Actually this would make an excellent thread down in humor

Lol oh that's YOUR nickname! Haha

I don't think this is the same. My Jon has dark long hair with a good healthy beard. Kinda soft spoken and not very convincing at his level of bs when trying to make the sale. As in he changed what he said a knob was. First he said knobs where v-v-t, then changed to blend-v-t???***
