Lol...WOW... that is pretty ugly! Maybe @Dadagoboi would have some thoughts about that. The only thing that comes to my mind, is to build a "form" around it (kinda like you would for pouring concrete), then fill it with epoxy of some sort, let dry and redrill. I definitely NOT advising that you actually DO this... it's just the only idea that comes to mind. Others, more qualified than myself, can validate or laugh off this idea...

I’m intrigued to see why the fingerboard is actually made of, as I watched the Chris Catero and Guitar World videos again last night and both stated rosewood, although I keep seeing mention of the Blackwood Tek (or whatever it is) stuff.
Pickup input requested: I have an Epiphone Thunderbird Classic IV Pro (white). I like the bass a lot. Not so much the sound. I'm a studio guy these days and the engineers don't want any part of it. I understand/appreciate that point of view, especially since I have other options. That said, I'd love thoughts on alternatives for pickups. Thanks. (Pic so I don't have to go through other options.)

More like a thrower outer. I messed around with the 4 track to get a sample for you last night, hang tight while I sift through life to find the time to post it. Got a brake job to do, a hockey game to watch and anything the wife has for me on the to do list. Coming soon.

Why does Epiphone have to put those stickers on? I know you can take them off, but I think it really cheapens the initial impression.
Reminds of the first time I recorded in a pro studio. I had my first bass which was a Rickenbacker 4001. The engineers were brutal about how much they hated recording Rickys. Now that I engineer at my own studio I completely sympathize with them...although, I still have that Ricky.
Sounds dead, even with RS 66LD on them. I'd like to be able to dial in a more of an aggressive tone on her. This is just dull/boomy, as if there is no attack.
Interesting. I've never had studio issues with my Ric ('74), though it most definitely is not a J or a P. I've been using it in the studio since the mid 1970s without issue. Maybe try raising the pickups a little towards the strings? Also, if you're using both pickups at max, try rolling off the bridge pickup a little. And of course make sure the tone knob is maxed.
I have to plead ignorance. I'm not familiar with these. Care to provide a readers digest summary/opinion? I'd really appreciate it.
