Thunderbird Club

I didn't know Greco was making Thunderbirds in 1978. I thought they started making them in 1988 or 1989. But that's not a well researched bit of knowledge, so they may very well have been making 'Birds in 1978. Whether it's a 1988 or 1978, $1000 is a decent price for one in good condition. The price of a good Greco has been going up pretty fast lately as far as I can tell.

Mine's a '78, and I want to say I've seen a '77. I've also seen a '76 Greco Thunderbird, but it was an entirely different design, with different pickups and a bolt on neck, so I believe '77 might be the starting year for the ones we're more familiar with.

Thanks. I appreciate the correction. The last thing I want to do is spread misinformation about 'Birds of any kind.

Interestingly, I've seen a few '78s and '79s, and then most I've seen are dated to '88-'89, but I'm not sure if I've seen too many from the intervening years. I'm sure they exist, but I don't think I've seen any dated to say, '84 or '85. Or who knows, maybe there was a gap in production in the middle, it seems rather hard to find solid production info on the Grecos.

And to add to that. @Dr_Feelgoood212 has a good point. But what is worse is when you don't get the right parts. Bad enough we don't follow the instructions sometimes. But no rear legs and short front legs. Look at Juniors face!, how do you think he feels?

Just hope you can keep him fed Jeff, otherwise you're next into the choppers!

With all this talk of pedalboards, I figured I might as well post a pic of mine...
