Thunderbird Club

I'm looking forward to it. I sold my SVT a couple of years ago and the only tubers I have left are low wattage and not suitable for gigging. My plucking fingers were sore after last nights gig, so I decided it was time to get back in the tube camp for gigging. And at 41 lbs, it's less than half the weight of the SVT. I may have some questions for you after I receive it.

Hey, really glad that worked out!! Congrats!!Thanksgiving and Crustmas are great time to eyeball ebay.

Nasty no-mids having 15yr-old-bass-slapping-in-the-bedroom tone.
Yep, I'm not sure of the rational for adding additional controls to accomplish what can be done by adjusting the existing tone controls. My Genz Benz has three buttons for scooping that never get used. Marketing to a certain segment of the market, I suppose.

Is there a border tax leaving CA?
Reread this, realized I didn't quite answer your question.
It's not really border tax, because even if you have it mailed over, you still get taxed. That's just what we, well the people I know, refer to it as.

As for your question, yes and no. It's not taxed leaving Canada, it's the US that will tax the item, because it is being brought into the US. From a monetary point of view, countries don't care what's leaving, that's money coming in. They care about what's entering the country because you bought something somewhere else instead of buying it in your country, even if it's something that cannot be found in said country. So yes there is tax, no it is not leaving Canada tax.

What I said yesterday about anything over $100 is eligible for tax, only applies to if you bring it across the border yourself. If you have it mailed into Canada, from anywhere, then anything worth over $20 will get taxed. Unless it's a gift worth under $60.

I'm sure they'll get around to a 'leaving tax' soon, both above and below the border. After all, we got wars to fight and I'm sure there's some pinko plot that needs to be subsidized up there...like universal snow removal.

:roflmao:
I think the first thing Canada would do is bring back border tolls. The US never got rid of it, so they'd just raise it.
I never understood that you had to pay a toll to leave the US, and it's nearly $4.00 USD!!
We already have universal snow removal. The new up and coming thing is universal igloo housing for people that are in 'EH-EH?'

Its was a bit of a political joke about the "tax at will" nature of the state of kalifornia...probably should've let it be
