Er, slightly smaller than a standard CTS shaft. The two holes for the new pots needed to be enlarged slightly -- used a drill bit as a rasp and gently did it. I was extremely BAD and cyano-acrylated the two nylon pieces into the unused holes. When the bridge pickup was removed, I fixed that blanking piece with nail polish in case I should ever need to remove it.

I was going to suggest those dust/dummy for 1/4” speaker jacks. Can’t find them though.

Hey Goalee, I think you mentioned the Alumitones previously as being piezo like (the quote dropped out of my multi quote ?).
Would they be suitable on a semi hollow style bass ?

I would think so. Maybe a better way to describe them is completely transparent. I ought to do some more string experiments with them to see what happens. I have a set of Black Beauties that would look good on that bass, since it's not chromed out. I think it has Chromes on it now. They have been there for about ever, so a new set of strings as an experiment might be in order soon.

One more reason I don't use Apple anything.

It seems like a VP is the way to go if you don't want to take things apart. There's no reason to take apart a VP. A Pro IV gives plenty of reason to modify it, and so it all boils down to whatever triviani likes to do.

I intend to go the opposite direction of a II one of these days. I have a bolt on Epi and a Dimarzio One. That bass will end up with three pickups, wired VVV, no tone. Why? No reason.

I may pull the tone circuit out of mine at some point. I’d swear passive basses sound better without em, but I could be full of it. The only exception is one of my P basses may get a Tonestyler installed. I’ve heard great things about those, aside from the fact that a $110 tone pot is...strange

I would only do it because certain producers at sessions insist on rolling back the tone a certain amount they’ve decided is the ‘sweet spot.’ Then again, dummy knobs are pretty fun at sessions
