Glad to see you're posting up, G. Are you still in danger from the wildfires?

I haven't checked the news yet this morning but as of 3:00 last night none of the three fires near us was anywhere near contained. The good news is yesterday was not a windy day, so the fire fighters (over 3000 of those guys fighting right now, not including the national guard) were able to make some progress. Unless things change drastically I don't think we'll need to evacuate, fingers crossed.

Definitely not the fit and finish of the EBMM's I've had experience with, but compared to Fender, I have a Jazz bass that the bridge pup was installed noticeably out of square

LOL - on a Warwick that's a "design feature".

I wish I could get to the studio today to compare it with my Classic through a proper amp and/or monitors. All I have at home is a cheap usb interface and some K240 headphones. BUT it feels great and sounds good through this weak setup so far. And looks killer.

I'm also happy it fits the case I already have for the Classic.

I would go with Black Beauties myself. I had black tapewound on my LPB2 when I got it and was not happy with the dull sounds they produced. Swapped for BB's and wham!!! Clear and aggressive!!

Me? I've been wanting to do something with a Templar Cross. Originally a Red Cross on a pachment guard on my Precision. Now that I've been seduced over to the dark side I'm digging those paint schemes. I was leaning towards white on my VP but those basses are awesome, kinda got that Sandberg thing going on. Yes. I must have one.

Also, did a quick NBD thread on my ‘Bird. I doubt we’ll convince anyone, but I’ve still yet to find any of the ‘problems’ so many associate with Gibson basses in general and T Birds specifically.

I get no neck dive, no ergo issues (plays like a dream!), no intonation issues, no fit and finish issues, no wonky frets. It’s a real gem

I find on forums, when a lot of folks ask a question they already know what their answer is. There’s another “is Gibson’s QC crappy?” thread going on right now, but the intent isn’t to ask the question, but to affirm that they are correct in this assumption. When folks agree with a sample of one, anecdotal argument, they say “I know, right?!” But when you suggest your bass is awesome, the sample of one, anecdotal thing is called into question. In my case, I’ve owned 7 Gibson basses and as many guitars. I’d like to think that’s enough ‘data’ for me to have an opinion. I’ve had a consistently high QC rate, though certainly not a 100% rate. But we all enter into these things with a built in bias. I happen to love Gibson basses, so my bias might disqualify me from any such debate

Yes I have about a dozen Gibson Basses and a few guitars- no problems with any of them.

Nothing exceeds like excess, and this is the Thunderbird club. Overkill is a goal.
