Thunderbird Club

I've been checking out those pickguards!
Hah. Is that the German woman’s? I’ve emailed her twice with no response either time. Hopefully you have better luck.

Love this tune also Ken. You were much more in the mix then the vid reveals.
Thanks! We unfortunately have no good recording. The drummer brought the video camera and a Zoom recorder. Both batteries died before we finished.

My friend was originally contemplating a slab P with single coil but has lately been thinking along the lines of a 60s P body with a J neck.

I think your friend was right first time round, but I much prefer the single coils (except those nasty nasal Jazz Bass ones). :)

I have been contemplating selling my Ric, which I haven't used in yonks. The G3 Reissue does a pretty good Ric impersonation.
Anyway, I got the 4003 out last week and checked it out, did some minor maintenance and (lo and behold) I haven't put it down since.
I just practised some new songs the band wants to do on it. It sounds so nice- so I mightn't sell it after all.

@BklynKen & @JJR58 ... remember when I asked if a member (think he was in Beacon?) was near Lake Carmel? I grew up in Poughkeepsie and spent a lot of time in Lake Carmel with my grandparents. Think my grandmother worked in either Beacon or Mahopac. It was the 70's... I don't remember.
When was the last time you were in Poughkeepsie? It’s pretty sad now.

I only went back to Pok. once after we moved to FL when I was in middle school and that was in the early 80's. My father was an IBM'er and from what I understand that was the only reason to live there. I periodically visit family in NYC and on the Island. But I'm not surprised to hear that Pok. hasn't fared well. Very few people I grew up with & reconnected with on Facebook actually stayed there. However, I will say... the neighborhood we lived in there in the 70's was a great place to raise kids. Hard to find that these days.

Only had to trim the headstock a little...who needs more than three strings anyway?
