Here's a question.

Does anyone here know where one might find a finished P body in an outrageously blingy finish (purple glitter, silver flake) for not too many pesetas?

Tell your friend their is nothing to fear in owning a P Bass, I even have some.
Has your friend thought about a single coil P Bass with the nifty smaller headstock?

My friend was originally contemplating a slab P with single coil but has lately been thinking along the lines of a 60s P body with a J neck.

Oh my friend is very fussy about finishes and couldn't bear a dodgy rattlecan finish. This particular individual in not in any hurry whatsoever and has other priorities anyway. They are just idly curious.

That friend is probably very fussy. The finish would have to match vintage sunglasses frames, right?

It’s a great looking bass - Except for the horrible maple fretboard, which doesn’t go well with the purple...

It’s a great looking bass - Except for the horrible maple fretboard, which doesn’t go well with the purple...

Yes it really ruins it. I'm probably going to buy the AVRI63 pup and put in the cupboard against the day I may get around to using it.

To my ears, huge difference. Some will disagree. It's all good in the long run no matter what one's preference is.
It made a huge difference in sustain. And with a full contact, bridge to body, changed up the tone, to be a little more full sounding.
Not to mention that bridge is fully adjustable. Hope that helps.

The stock is dwindling (pedals leaving), but there's still a pair of Chinabuckers in there. A P pickup will go in a P body ... one of these years. Better to buy cheap than to wait until they're harder to find and the price goes up.
