There are basses, and there are Thunderbirds!
But wouldn't one of those give a Thunderbird an even darker sound, considering they usually have 500K tone pots (at least the Epi's have)...?

It may be marginally darker at 1 but there's no effect at all at 10. The pot is completely disconnected from the circuit when you turn it all the way up.
Yup, its mine lol. I'm selling it here for $2,000 but on eBay its 3 due to feels and the fact that I don't like ebay. All real bass players should be on TB anyway!

Primer and paint done, wet sand and off for airbrush graphics. Going pretty well, esp when I somehow forgot to tape to back which I didnt touch so that had to be wet sanded lol, gotta love it!
Are the pickups going to be installed when the body is painted so that the image covers everything? You see that once in a while on guitars/basses.
There was a guy on eBay selling a repro of Nikki's Spector that you are recreating. He was the original guy that painted Nikki's basses back in that era. Think he wanted $500 for the painted body.

Ya know, I was actually thinking about having him paint over the puck ups to get more of the image on it, esp with it having soap bars instead of P/Js. In the end I want it as close to original as possible. I have to wet sand tomorrow so I have til Friday to decide.

It seemed like a lot of work/hastle with fill in and all that and I've got about $900 into this so far.

I was under the impression you had bought a "righty" reverse Spector and was turning it upside down to make a lefty NR Nikki Spectorbird and already had filled the original jack and pot holes and made a new route for the jack - So I assumed it wouldn't be much more work to do the other routes - hence the question...

I guess it was more a money thing. I'm on a time scheadule to have this done and its already cost more than I planned. Between getting my house ready to sell and band stuff money is tight. It would be cool to have it P&J but not to be.LOL... Obviously not...
It sold for $1499.43 with shipping. I was close to being right. Anyone here snag it?

Projects can get out of hand money-wise pretty fast if you aren't careful. I've run into that a couple of times already. There is always "just one more" part you want to add to make them perfect.
