The minuscule HPF they make looks like it would fit just about anywhere. You could put it somewhere under your pedalboard. Maybe that's the real solution for the fDeck. It goes on the bottom of the board, which then un-reverses the input and output.

Yes the HPF would fit under the PT Nano+ I ordered a couple of days ago.

Except ... the passive tone stack means you're not able to boost any frequencies -- not saying it won't be helpful though. Can definitely appreciate the utility of the HPF for cleaning up low frequency hash at the bottom end though.

This is probly a "noob" question, but, would this filter be best used in the loop, or in the front end?

Anywhere, although I prefer to avoid fx loops, therefore would run it after the tuner, powered off the 18V supply on my Cioks.

Generally, an effects loop is akin to fish flavored ice cream (something that just shouldn't happen) IMHO... but by nature of what these filters do, it seems like it could be appropriate...

Hey Duke... does one reap the benefits of an HPF at bedroom levels, or do ya gotta be at performance level before you can tell it's doin' anything?

Put on the La Bella Stainless Steel, formerly Hard Rockin' Steel, but same catalog number: M45. Initial impressions are very positive. Getting that raw aggressive tone I love from the Rotosounds, as well as the high tension. No silk wrapping; they look just like all the DRs. Funny way to tell them apart in the package is these cute little numbered cubes that are at the ends of the strings. I have to think that's a waste of material, but who knows. Looking forward to playing more with these.

Here's a dirty little riff I just made up playing with the strings. Sorry for all the fret clank, but the action is really low and I was playing really aggressively. they sound more lively than the recording suggests. I just recorded it with the Music Memos app on my iPhone.

Found them. Yeah, there's an always on HPF as well. Added to the list.

I bought a Cave Passive Pedals “Tight Arse” HPF (how could I refuse?) from a thread on OzBass for $30 odd a while ago. An always on (and no adjustments) thingy, I use/d it even though I’m doing low volume stuff because I thought ‘why not?’

Anyway Cave have since done another couple of low vol releases, I think with enhancements people wanted - just search ‘Tight Arse’ or Cave I guess.

Something I think is often overlooked...for pick players, we decided on our ‘favorites’ early on, BUT, the thickness and style of pick can make a huge difference in tone. I notice Roni leans toward .73’s and it explains some of that extra snap. Some folks prefer super heavy picks so when you dig in, you can get more break up. I lean toward blue Tortex 1mm as a happy medium, but whenever I’m recording I keep several different types and thickness picks around. It can be a dramatic difference

Totally agree. Big difference between in sound between the 3 different pick types I use.

I hesitate between them and the Chinabuckers. But my NR have chrome hardware...

I wonder what those sound like. Entwhistle used Gibson pickups, not aftermarket pickups. As far as I know, there weren't any aftermarket 'Bird pickups until Mike Lull started making them. I could be wrong about that - Veronica can correct me if I'm wrong, but I have no doubt our Queen knows these things.

A guy on my Thunderbird Facebook group just replaced the pickups in his 76 Bird with these. He is very happy with them so far.

Tonite I played my Classic Pro through an old Acoustic 371 and loved it! Great distortion and I thought the 18 was quite punchy. Never mind the power! I've been suspect that my Peavey Mini-Mega was a "weak" 1000 watts having it clip on me numerous times under heavy load, volume around 3:30 gain around 1:00. The old Acoustic?! Volume at noon and holy smokes! That thing was huge! Great dirt. Loved it! Fortunate for me the BL is funding this shindig and is already on the hunt for a matching cab.
