That's what Uwe made of it. But I guess he's never heard of Roald Dahl. :roflmao:

Does anyone have any experience with this pickup?

The only thing I can add to what the other's have already said is: that particular pickup is a Squier, branded knockoff. Best avoided for the most part.
That bass itself is fine, but if you are considering purchasing it, a pickup upgrade may be taken into consideration once you have it in hand. Especially, if you are partial to the Bach, and similar pickups. Because the Squier, branded pup is a bit lackluster in output/tone, when compared to even the Fender, branded versions.

Hi, i'm new here and i see all your t-Birds, are awesome.
So, i got a question: can I wire in such a way that I can switch between active / passive in my t-bird pro iv?
Definitely maybe.

It's been done with other electronics. Whether it would be cost effective to do so is another question.

A couple of questions have been answered. I was wondering if it's a humbucker and if so, if it may have infringed on Gibson's EB-0/1/2/3 humbucker design. The other question was how does it compare to the Gibson mudbucker. Physiscally it looks like it could fit a Gibson (EB-0/1/2/3) bass with no alteration to the guitar..

It is indeed a humbucker.
The one pictured is a recent reissue of a Seth Lover(of Gibson PAF pickup fame) wide range bass design that was used in the 72- 79 (?) Telecaster Basses.
I have basses fitted with these pickups.
I understand the reissue is not exactly the same as the originals.

They are both high output pickups and are similar in sound to mudbuckers IMO, in that the lows and mids predominate.

The pickup you pictured can be wired up in a number of ways and is actually quite versatile. BTW I saw somewhere recently that you could buy these pickups separately.

Here is a bit of info on Seth.
