Thunderbird Club

When i worked for Delta, i did a lot of overseas traveling. Was truly awesome, greatful i had the opportunity to do as much as i did. My point was seeing how other people were treated from other countries coming in.
I get that but I hear stories from Americans getting :poop: on return.

That "inability to live by dumb rules" thing is why I left the Navy(I was a musician in the Navy, yes, that's a job). Too many things they did because they'd always done it "THAT" way. SHEEESH!:banghead:

When I was in the army, I took careful aim at the dumb rules and went about fixing them. I asked friends at other units to initiate complaints so that I could make changes happen. But the best was the monthly finance meeting; it always ended with the Deputy Commanding Officer asking for questions. He would cringe when the preamble to my question was "Sir, as a taxpayer..." I also saved $1mm on an $11mm annual budget.

I was an E-4,equivalent of lowest sergeant. My opinions were issued to me.:(

You want a fun customs experience, just fly into JFK from overseas. Oh yeah, you feel the love.

Now that I think about it, one of the more interesting entries I had into the US was from Kuala Lumpur to LAX. From the plane, there was a series of corners into ever narrowing corridors. Then, around the last corner, in single file, each passenger walked past a drug sniffing dog.

And then there was the flight into Frankfurt. Before the door opened, we were told to have passports out for inspection (unusual to have them out during disembarkation). Get to the door and there are two paramilitary police with automatic weapons, one with a dog, and another who was checking passports properly (hold it up beside your face to make sure the picture matches then read the information). I don't know what was going on, but they were looking for someone in particular.

Suggestions appreciated. I generally like my beer dark-like my soul.:)

Interesting. There's a smallish brewery in Winter Garden,FL,called The Crooked Can that makes a couple of stouts including a Maple stout that's particularly yummy. They also have a warped sense when it comes to naming their brews.
