It has to be Woods 100 anything else is for the bootnecks (marines)I saw some stuff at a local booze emporium that claimed to be RN rum. Don't recall the name and the store closed. I'll try one of their branches.

So about those Epiphone VPs?
On the subject of plates, our old bus had the letters KUK in it, I'm sure @hillerup will agree has a meaning in the Scandinavian countries all of it's own. Well we sold that but to a guy from Norway, he came over special to buy it. He needed to arrange insurance so he called his insurance company in Norway to get it sorted, when it came to the bit where he had to pass on the licence plate number the gut shouted hold it there, let me put this on speaker phone then asked the guy to repeat the number. He did and all we could hear was the entire office in Norway screaming with laughter for about a good five minutes. So now the young lad is driving around Norway with the equivalent of the word "pr1ck" on the front of his bus![]()

You are not kidding! Probably the best in the country. Now you got me going HA! They used to switch it up out front so every time you went they had old classics like Connies, C-47s, B-17s and on and on..to boot they would play 40's big band stuff out of the sound system and all of this before you even walked in! I really like the old factory and how they kept it.
I lived in Ravenna (worked in Fremont) from 2011 to 2013. What a kickass town. Sometimes regret having left..
Funny!!!! We did a show for the British Anglian Regiment in Gibraltar years ago. Boy that was fun. They got us clobbered.I was onboard USS Yorktown in '66. We met some guys from HMS Hampshire in Manila on liberty. When they found out we were musicians they asked if we could come play a concert for them. Once it was arranged we took a liberty boat from Yorktown to Hampshire. At the time we were just off the coast of Thailand. They saved up their rum ration for us so after the concert we got"faced". The guy piloting the liberty boat was astounded we'd never touched shore but were drunk as lords. Mighty fine rum in the Royal Navy!!!![]()
Well boys and girls, I have to go you'll be glad to know. We're off on holiday first thing in the morning to sunny Scotland for between 2 and 4 weeks depending on the weather so you can have relative peace to discuss basses in my absence
Parting shot before I go: Go and listen to "Coz I luv you" by Slade, bassline put down by Noddy Holder, simple but it's my favourite bassline ever
See you soon!

You would have commuted right past my house. It's a small world. You are not kidding! Probably the best in the country. Now you got me going HA! Yeah like a 10 minute drive along the lake. Pretty place. There was that mariner bar in the corner with the best fish and chips. You would have commuted right past my house. It's a small world.
Based on what everyone who has played one has said, it's hard to avoid a big round of GAS for one. If they were making 'em in an exotic early 1960s color, it would be futile to resist. So about those Epiphone VPs?
'Bout time somebody got around to that. Slackers!Penetrating oil... Ahem!![]()
That's the Pacific Inn at the corner of 35th and Stone Way. It was a whole lot divier before they paved the parking lot and put a deck out back. It was the kind of place where the lot would fill with pickup trucks at about 3:30 every day, and then pickups would all be gone by about 4:00. Then the real craziness would start up. There was a guy who had some kind of mental illness or other issue who had a seat at the bar. He never said anything to anybody, and I'm not sure he even drank anything. He would just sit there. Everyone knew him as Rasputin, because that's what he looked like right down to the crazy eyes. Nobody ever sat on Rasputin's stool. I don't know what would have happened if somebody did. Probably not much, but everyone looked out to make sure Rasputin's stool was ready for him when he got there.Yeah like a 10 minute drive along the lake. Pretty place. The average Vietnamese peasant could care less about who ran the country. Just leave him and rice paddy be.
Love that big ol' Peavey rig...That's the bass Leon played when I saw them. Sounded pretty FAT
