Thunderbird Club

I'm surprised that the hot rod shop is cheaper than the pro-refinisher. Warmoth has a clear advantage in this scenario, but between the 2 custom shops, I wouldn't hesitate to use the hot rod shop. I think it'd be completely badass to have a Thunderbird dolled up with a finish reminiscent of customized fuel tank on a motorcycle:cool:
They probably have flakes on the shelf, as they probably use it a LOT more often than a guitar refinisher.

Are there any tuners with lollipos or clverleafs that fit on the headstock of a 2012 Thunderbird? One of my tuners makes a strange rattling noise when I play the open E-string....
Hipshot has some, I don't recall the model number though, you may have to contact them directly.

Good question.
Until you lot started posting pics of Les Pauls again this morning I was thinking of a couple of posh birds. Mahogany body and through neck but with the face of the body veneered in Macassar Ebony finished with a black burst to hide the veneer edge. Gold hardware, bound neck worth real MOP inlay. Now you’ve got me off on a black Les Paul again

Sounds pretty cool though - LP or not... :)

Yes. Hipshot makes them. They are a special smaller cloverleaf that doesn't overlap on a modern Thunderbird's headstock.

[edit] I'm slow! Everyone else already beat me to it.

Black or Gold Top work for me. Let the enabling begin, oh wait, it never stopped.

Those Gibson LP's are really really nice...

Not buying any new basses for a while - So will have to settle with this bad boy for the time being.. ;)

Actually bought this bass to make an 8-string conversion.

If would be very easy to swab the bridge for a Schaller 3D 8-string bridge, and plugging the original tuner holes and drilling new ones should be a fairly easy job to do as well... But I kinda like it as it is... :)
