I'm getting it shipped to the Bellingham Washington store which is about an hours drive from me with that pesky border in the middle.

So, did anyone else see this today? Loud Audio has sold Ampeg to Yamaha.
Although they say that it was to allow Loud to concentrate on their core pro audio customers, I think in reality, this is much like the Gibson situation; high debt, sell off parts to settle the debt (except Gibson didn't do that part).
But to me, the far more interesting part is that Yamaha is buying. Yamaha has been restrained in its M&A activity. Whereas Gibson went far afield (consumer electronics) Yamaha has stuck to its knitting; staying within musical instruments (I think the last acquisition was line 6). And even smarter, it is not buying all it can find, it is waiting for bargains (like when someone has to sell off a business to settle debt).

I don't know if the world would've been able to handle that much cool. Some government agency would probably try to capture and weaponize it
