Each of my kids has their own iPhone 6 Plus and with that, access to 99.999% of all the answers the Universe has ever come up with... yet, their first instinct is to ask me.

This damn kid does a ton of songs in Bb and Eb. Eb on upright is fine, but I hate it on electric bass. Nowhere to go in the blues stuff

As a parent, I would have asked him very seriously and in the presence of the principal "If you aren't willing to teach, then as a taxpayer, why am I paying you?". I really hate lazy teachers. My daughter has one now and it seems like I call the school after each math test and each science test to complain about the quality of the testing. The teachers here get paid very well, have a gold plated pension, retire earlier than others, and get two months off every summer. As a taxpayer, I expect excellence for that.

On the upside, my daughter has learned to recognize unfair test questions.

He wasn’t around very long. But in all fairness he was thrown in a class at the last minute that he knew nothing about.

I know a lot of teachers get summer jobs just to stay busy.

I don't know about the states but in the school Wendy recently retired from the pupils are given Ipads and they are then told a subject to research and left to google it and that was the norm in that school for most subjects. She used to come home with some dreadful stories about the total lack on knowledge of the younger teaching staff.
