Quick question for the group on T- Bird value. Since they seem to be petty similar would a T-bird from 1990 be "worth" more than one from 2013, if all things are equal except the age?
I'd pay more for an older one for a couple of reasons:
More than likely the pickups won't be of the current design - There are at least 5 different pickup that have been used since the re-issue in '88
There early re-issues don't have as much pitch in the neck which gives lower action and gets the strings nearer to the pickups.

Interesting and thanks. Is there any place I can get an idea of the pick up differences?
That is a very valuable bit of information.
Voice of experience?
Well it did have a pickup... maybe next time I’ll bring my pedalboard. What wash tub is best for Metal?.
I was trying explain this exact thing to a sound guy the other day. He wanted a lighting truss to be isolated from ground because he thought it would be safer.
Foam velcroed in at the neck support rib, works like a jet..Good point. Both of my Tbirds don’t really sit in the case well. It’s like the forming for the body isn’t deep enough, and just carrying them makes the bass slip down and out of the body form. My 2000 Blackbird AND my 2012 Heritage Cherry Bird do it.
What is the pitch on an older neck do you know?I'd pay more for an older one for a couple of reasons:

I'd rather masturbate with a cheese grater![]()
I'm certain this is a regional thing, we're much more refined here on the West (best) Coast. Are there other options you'd consider?
Not a VP, an Epiphone Classic pro with Chinabuckers. Joe Bardens in the Ric.
The strap on mine went from one side of that rib to the other w/ the permanent part on the G side of the neck.Foam velcroed in at the neck support rib, works like a jet..

Ah cool, at first glance due to the bridge i thought it was the VP.
My Thunderbird Studio does it, not sure about the Bicentennial. The Epiphone CIVP and VP seem fine in their factory cases. Unfortunately, the modified body shape of the Studio doesn't fit the Epi cases at all.Good point. Both of my Tbirds don’t really sit in the case well. Wonder if that was done aftermarket on your case...Does the strap/button look stock? The strap on mine went from one side of that rib to the other w/ the permanent part on the G side of the neck.
hmmmm....
