My new bird in action

Slow in here this Monday! For anyone that might care, I ended up making the drive and nabbed that Epiphone TBird IV in Pelham Blue the other day. College kid, didn't play much and hadn't played this one much anymore because of "neck dive." His loss! Case is very nice & the bass is in fantastic shape aside from one noticeable ding in the back of the neck around the 9th-10th fret (from memory.) Output jack was loose & those funky roundwounds must have been about a 2005 vintage. Whole thing was covered in dust, but I guess it was worth $200. :) Now I've got to decide whether to keep it or not... If I do, it's gonna get a couple of new strap pin holes.

Thanks! I restrung it with some used-but-still-usable D'Addarios I'd taken off something else and it plays well & sounds pretty darn good. Neck is obviously a little fatter and the pickups aren't quite as nice, but it's far, far from an "unusable, muddy bass."

I guess I need to get a group shot of the three 'birds now at some point.

Which are the other two?

I strung mine with RotoSound 66 Swing Bass - Sounds awesome with those, but you need to remove some of the silk windings to clear the strings from the saddles, which is a PITA...

I might try the Rotos again on one of them at some point. I tried them years ago on a G&L and they didn't impress me much. I'm usually a TI Powerbass guy if I can afford them, D'Addario when I can't.
