Thunderbird Club

I think i'm more a burst fan on 7end3rs rather than gibsons (unless it's on a les paul, then anything is pretty cool)

I know the TBirds are bursts but I really don't think of them that way.
Funny thing- I have about a dozen Fenders and only a couple of bursts- two of the older two tone bursts and an Antigua.
My tastes are weird.

A DOZEN FENDERS!? Wow that's a lot!!!

Not the biggest Fender fan here, but the Antigua is a pretty nice burst - Would look cool on a T-Bird... ;)

Something nicer. :)
The Birds and my "truck". Larry's neat sticker is just visible on the window near the head of the Gibson.

I know what you mean about the Thunderbirds not feeling like a "burst". They clearly are, but I think the shape of the 'Bird mitigates the amount of burst that you can actually see, or maybe more the way you see it. The burst on a Fender seems round and obvious, especially with the tort or gold guard.

I too tend to favour solid colours. That said, my 6 instruments are tobacco burst, clear acrylic, white, vintage clear amber, vintage burst, and clear over tiger maple. Major fail.

I have bursts on one of my Hamer FBIV's and an Epi Bird. The Epi now has a rusted metal guard on it that makes the burst look a LOT better to me. Still need to get rid of the momentary kill switch and install a strat type jack for the input on the Epi.

If you could do that strat style jack also in the rusted metal... dang.

They are cool creations, but for some reason i wouldn't have one (sorta hypocritical on it but i wouldn't play a fender shaped bass with tbird/gibson pickups, yet i'd play gibson shaped basses with fender pickups - such as i'm doing now for my thunderbird build & my friends RD bass build)

I guess i'm too die hard for Fs but love the looks of Gs :p

Shameless self shoutout: here you go
