Thunderbird Club

“Scent of pine trees in the air. Never knew a day so fair. The bluest sky’s you’ve ever seen...” A heavy metal or punk version of that song would be epic.

Heavy metal Perry Como!

Lake Crescent has the clearest, most beautiful water, it's about 600 fet deep.

Guessing I could annoy a lot of people with that Kazoo.

We used to do the Ringo song about a 16yo, and I got to do the Kazoo solo. It was fun, if naff. But if good enough for Sir Paul it’s good enough for me.

Btw would it be extraordinarily creepy if Ringo still sings now, in his 70s ?

Well if it's creepy for me to still be making music in my 70s, it's going to have to happen anyway...

Leonard Cohen is becoming one of my quiet heros.

Seller states, "I scrubbed the cheesy graphic off of the pickguard."

o_O Good job, dummy.

I'm glad he's selling it!

I'm still singing @ 73. How well is up for questions, but I sound pretty decent on tape.

Have you ever looked at the lyrics to “My Sharona”?:rollno:
Oh. It's My Sharona?????

Damn, our band has been singing it wrong all the years as ,"My Ska Wrote 'Em", if you get my drift. Don't want to violate any TB polices on not being Politically Correct. LOL....... Gotta luv it.

But we do actually sing it that way goofing around at rehearsal.

And as CCR said, "There's a bathroom on the right"... LOL

But Like Jimmy Hendrix says, "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy"...... LOL

Sorry Folks, It is Friday, and gotta have a few laughs.

Funny thing is that my son, who really is a trumpet player, got such a kick out of a plastic trumpet that he bought one and played it professionally for a short time. To his own amusement, but not necessarily for the amusement of others. He got rid of it. The valves weren't very good, the intonation was hard to get, and it wasn't likely to hold up very long anyway. I think he gave it to a kid who wanted to try playing, but probably wasn't serious. Which means a plastic tuba is perfect for a terminally unserious person like me. Except that I'm always Very Serious [TM]. You all knew that already.

You are in the correct thread.

Yep, I've been already identified as a deplorable in the last Prez campaign. So I'm just living up to my identity. LOL.

Been crazy over all these years. Sometimes my band mates unlock my chain (but they usually regret it). LOL

Easy enough to change the lyrics to: "you're 60, you're beautiful and you're mine"
Much less creepy for someone in their 70s to sing it like that. ;)

Yep... sing the original and you my get arrested these days. Damn we're living in some very unusual and precarious times. They even have folks out there that won't take their kids to see Disney's "Snow White", because of some PC BS. Guess I have out lived my relevance. Maybe I need to check the locks on my chain!!!!!!

But the Eagles say it best, "I'm already gone."

Politically, we are probably opposites, but we are Thunderbird players, which makes us more alike than not. And that's good.

I really like that pickguard!

Thanks. Got it from a replacement parts place (don't remember who) just plain Pearloid guard.

Then had the original with the T Bird Logo, and xeroxed it, and enlarged it a bit.

Then traced onto some Turquoise Blue Abalone Inlay material, cut it out with Hair Cutting Scissors (they are sharp enough), then glued onto the Replacement Pick Guard with Super Glue. Also replaced the knobs with the Witches Hat ones and cut Abalone Circles out and glued into their recessed tops. She's a beauty.\\

Oh BTW, also countersunk three small Blue Sapphires into the Knob area body to act as markers for the knob adjustment setting numbers. (always hated that Gibson never had a way to mark numbers on the knob settings) But she came out as very beautiful and very personalized.

Laughs are good - we can always use more!
I tend to ignore what the lyrics are and just hear the groove, so in the past I never paid attention to the lyrics in My Sharona.
But then last year I wanted to show my teenage daughter how to play the bass line and I looked up the lyrics...
