That's David Bowie? I didn't know that. I didn't know he even played sax.
I always thought that Bowie just sang (and took on different personas).

View attachment 3193180 I know there's been a lot of car talk here recently, but hopefully this is still the Thunderbird Club for a reason. Finally took 'er out of the case, now that I have an amp worthy of her existence.
May I have a number please? Thanks... Phat.
I wish!!! I just googled "Thunderbird car and bass" and that image came up - along with a whole bunch of Tbirds with Subarus...
I wonder who did that?!

Owner claims it's a factory finish, I doubt it As long as we are testing limits:
That song is a blast for a bass player. You can play one line on upright and the other on electric, or both on electric. It's a challenge, but it can be done.
It's a bit of a high price for a bolt on Epi, but with that paint and the outrageous sheet metal pickguard and matching TRC, it's probably worth it. No way that's factory. Who cares! One of us really needs that one!Wild custom paint Eppi bird sighted in LA...

but still a cool purchase at that price.

He is probably my favorite vocalist. But he was also an extremely talented writer and guitarist. And he played sax. He could play keys pretty well too; although session players like Wakeman and Bittan, just to name a couple, played on his classic records. The sax was part of his Thin White Duke look.I always thought that Bowie just sang (and took on different personas).
Yeah I've done that one. They are both cool parts, but quite a challenge for 1 person. We have been working on that one. Not easy for one bassist to play. I'm starting to get the parts down but its been slow going.
Seems high to me, especially with that guitar gig bag. It's a bit of a high price for a bolt on Epi, but with that paint and the outrageous sheet metal pickguard and matching TRC, it's probably worth it. No way that's factory. Who cares! One of us really needs that one!
Yeah, I thought it was a really fun looking bass, would be cool to rock it on stage in an '80s Def Leopard tribute band or a Jethro Tull cover of Bungle in the Jungle. I'm passing on it because I already have enough fun basses and I'm not playing out much any more. But basically for the price of a Goth bass someone is gonna get a cool one of a kind player. It's a bit of a high price for a bolt on Epi, but with that paint and the outrageous sheet metal pickguard and matching TRC, it's probably worth it. I'm still singing @ 73. How well is up for questions, but I sound pretty decent on tape.
Oh. It's My Sharona?????
Damn, our band has been singing it wrong all the years as ,"My Ska Wrote 'Em", if you get my drift. Don't want to violate any TB polices on not being Politically Correct. LOL....... Gotta luv it.
But we do actually sing it that way goofing around at rehearsal.
And as CCR said, "There's a bathroom on the right"... LOL
But Like Jimmy Hendrix says, "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy"...... LOL
Sorry Folks, It is Friday, and gotta have a few laughs.
This is a great club thread. You’ll get any question you ask answered. And with respect. No such thing as a dumb question and if it’s been asked before no one will chide you for not searching thousands of posts first. In the past few years I’ve engaged in conversations with players from Britain, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and who knows from where else. And I consider them friends. You can talk about pretty much anything in here, but it always circles back to Birds. Welcome.Oh no worries... cars are awesome too! It's all just part of rock'n'roll, right?
It can be done up the neck and flipping the upright part. It helps to have cave dweller fingers and a prehensile tail.Yeah I've done that one. They are both cool parts, but quite a challenge for 1 person.
There is always the original album cover for the Blind Faith album. I don't know how old that girl was, but she sure looked like a little kid to me.Yeah go for it. I hope I’m still going into my 90s, I may have a clue by then.
I hope Ringo brings his All Stars back here one more time so I can go see him.
I was a bit ‘tongue in cheek’ and more talking about the image of a mid 70s yo bloke singing about a 16yo.
A poopieload of R n R is similar. Take Cold Chisel ‘I’m gonna roll ya’ amongst many many others. (BTW They had a live ep “you’re 13, you’re beautiful and you’re mine”).
I reckon when the songs were written no one expected to be singing them when they were 50 or 60 years older.
Wasn’t R n R s’posed to be a fad?
“When the going gets tough” - Aussie blokes were heard to sing along “Go and get stuffed” .
It fits well, especially after half a doz schooners... (the original also sounds like that a bit).
Misheard lyrics could be its own thread
And Nice Blitz Weinhard Beer Case. That's an Old one.
