Nothin wrong with that camp. Here's my Spector Family Photo...

...from left to right that's a Euro 4LX neck through with a poplar Burl top and poplar wings, it's a beast and easily my most aggressive sounding bass; a 35" Rex Pro 5 string all maple neck through bass with the ever changing holoflash finish; and a very rare highly figured walnut on walnut NS2J Special Edition one of 11 made Jazz on steroids bass.
The Rex bass was what got me into the TBird club, since then I've added a Gibby anniversary bird, an Eppi Goth and an Eppi VP. You guys are a bad influence.

Plan on 800hp, but expect 700
More like a flying truck... but yes.
700hp to 800hp is plenty in a light truck rear end. Those tires are gonna light up and melt off without some weight in the rear. ;)
You could always weld a 6" steel pipe to the frame in place of the rear bumper. Cap both ends and weld a couple of 3/4" garden hose fittings to it. Fill it with water for extra weight and traction, and pity the poor guy that ever rear ends you. :D

Considering it won’t be caged... due to the fact we don’t want down bars going into the bed, racing it would be highly unlikely. Making the back tires go up in smoke while already doing 70 mph is a goal though.
Don’t forget there’ll be a 19 gallon fuel tank that will be behind the rear axle.

Here’s what was on it when we got it.
The truck rose a couple inches when they were removed.

Nothing wrong with Spectors, as a matter of fact I love them. Never owned one but always wanted one. Awesome woods, shape, electronics, ergonomics, tone....one of the best basses ever built IMO.
Oh and BTW your collection is mouthwatering gorgeous..

Long ago a good friend of mine had one, like back when Kip Winger made them popular - We were working on a recording project and I played it quite a lot during rehearsal and for the actual recording, it was a wonderful instrument, beautifully made, and had wonderful tone. Were I not so in love with Thunderbirds, I could easily be in the Spector camp.

OK, though that's a bit concerning about it not fitting in the case. I bought the Vintage Pro from Music Go Round specifically because it came with a case at a good price. Are you saying that the bass they send me won't fit in the case that it comes with? If so, that's confusing, and I wonder what case would actually fit it.
The case that Epiphone specs for the Vintage Pro is the same "tapered" model that they use for the Classic Pro. It used to be rectangular, which I hear fits the big-headed bass better - if you can find one. I have both basses, ordered a case for each at different times (different part numbers) and got the same case. The Vintage pro fits, but it is snug and you have to put it in headstock first and then drop the body in. I tried to fit both into the case for my Gibson Thunderbird Studio, and the Studio's body has a slightly different shape, so no go.

Yeah, the one in the pic is the tapered case, but I'm getting conflicting reports on whether or not that's the right/wrong case. One of the previous iterations of the Epi Pros that I had did have the rectangular case, and I wish I had held on to it so I'd know for sure, but I guess we'll just wait and see. Worst "case" scenario (HAR) is that it doesn't fit and it goes back, but for now I'll choose to be optimistic.

*******UPDATE on my quest for Hipshot bridge bolts.***** Hipshot sent out a new set of bolts for me no questions asked. I appreciate everyone that gave feedback/advice or offered parts.

@JJR58 PM sent.

The case that was in the picture with the VP you purchased from Music-Go-Round looked like the proper case for the bass. You should be fine. The fit was a bit snug on mine at first but seems to have loosened up a bit since I bought it.

And a pm sent back good sir.

Is this the correct place to post about other Gibson basses? Because I just picked up a used Gibson SG bass in flawless condition, and love it to pieces. I've had terrible luck with previous SG basses (twisted neck, sharp frets, microphonic pickups, etc), but it appears I finally have a winner!

That said, I had to laugh once I saw the bass. I was just having a funny conversation about the dubious Schecter XXX guitar that a former bandmate used to play. I thought the worst crime was the tacky pin-up poses as inlays making it difficult to tell where I was on the neck. Anyway, sure enough, the bass I received (through GC, so I didn't have detailed pics) has a truss rod cover featuring... a black and white pin-up model. Easy enough to swap, but I had to smirk at my luck.

Apologies to any Schecter XXX owners.

Instant karma gonna get you-Lennon.

@Band Mom, congrats on the SG find!

Did you sort out the boominess of your TBird?

Still working on the TBird issue, though I did pick up a Vintage Pro due to deliver tomorrow that should hopefully provide a different answer. I changed strings on the Pro to Sunbeams, and while it helps a little bit, I can tell by how much it rattles my amp head that the boominess will probably still be an issue in the mix. Have practice on Thursday and I'll bring both basses to compare. Additionally, I still need to work on the pickup height to see if I can cut out the low end a bit more.

Oh, and the SG bass:
