I think the newer one looks a hell of a lot better and for £108 or so I can see me getting one as a modding platform :)

His signature blackbird bass from gibson production 2000-2003. My dad owned one for a number of years & to date has been the loudest bass he's ever played. Sadly he sold it off back in 2007-08 i believe & i own the guitar he bought after selling the blackbird. he's owned the guitar previously for 7 years straight & i've had it for the last 2-3 years.

But aren't the pups in the blackbird just TB+ ?

They were marketed as being a higher output pickup so I believe they were different. With my modified BlackBird (with individual volume controls for each pickup) the soloed pickups sound more aggressive than the soloed TB Plus in my regular TBird.

Bryan, here's some Nikki Sixx Mk.II pickups from the bottom. Note the metal rail, not like other older TB pups I've seen. I traded these out for Lull's 8k and 9k '63 reproductions.

Cheers for that! I'll definitly have to spend some time at the GC and possibly some other music shops when I get over and then figure out the cost of getting them back to the uk
