Dang! And I just bought another Gibson bass that won't be delivered until tomorrow! Oh well, I guess it will just be sitting on my doorstep for a thousand years until some archeologist comes along and surmises that the custom in my household was to place a prized possession outside the door to ward off evil spirits during the mass destruction of the earth. :D

PS - the good news is I won't be sacrificing a Tbird, just its little SG brother...

Whoah. That's somethin' else! Told you not to store an SG and a Wal together in a dark closet!

Well, guys the end is near and I will bid you all goodbye... It was great fun while it lasted...

According to this article in The Guardian:

Christian group predicts the world will be 'annihilated' on Wednesday | World news | The Guardian

The eBible Fellowship has predicted the world will end today in a blaze of fire...

The eBible Fellowship has had a previous claim that the world would end on 21 May 2011. While that claim proved to be false, the organization is confident it has the correct date this time.

According to their leader McCann "There’s a strong likelihood that this will happen", although he did leave some room for error: “Which means there’s an unlikely possibility that it will not.” :)

I will report back tomorrow if I'm still here - Until then, have a nice last day on Earth... ;)

It is/was a pleasure knowing you all! ;) Happy last day on Earth everyone! See you tomorrow! :)

Nice. Can you also post one of your fretless Bird, please? Haven't seen it, really curious
FretlessBird.jpg

It has Lace Alumatone pickups now, but they look very much like the original pickups from more than about 10'. You can't really see much of a difference between this any other Epiphone Pro-IV, but it has no frets and it is completely rewired. Someday I might actually take a good picture of it as it is now. There's a thought! Assuming there is a someday. That's in question right about now.

Still practicing today, maybe I can be a better bass player in hell or wherever I'm headed.

Are any of you goofballs planning on bidding on this one? I'd like to snag it but I refuse to pay more than the current low bid. My American family here on TB can afford this. With shipping it's $1500 for me as it sits. Just need to know if I need to watch this through Canadian Thanksgiving dinner or not. Thanks!

Did you do the de-fretting and regardless of that question, what was used to fill the fret slot?
I didn't do the work myself, which means it came out very nicely. The luthier who did it used walnut veneers to fill the slots. We discussed using maple, but decided that it may as well look fretless if it's going to be fretless. He had some rosewood or something that was even closer, but it was unobtanium, and I didn't want him to use up his supply of that stuff on my bass. So, it got walnut. That means the lines are subtle, but they are there. They disappear from a distance. It didn't occur to me to remove the dots at the time, so they are still there. One of these days, they need to be gone to complete the project. In the mean time, it just gets played.

This bass has never been dropped or misused. Most of the time it has been either in the case or used for studio work.
Unlike the case.

I just got one, so you have no competition from me.

No competition from me either... As much as I would love to get a Gibson in Classic White, this is way over my budget - And that's not even counting shipping, taxes and customs to Denmark - Besides I'm pretty well covered with my current collection... ;)

Nope; it's wrong-handed, and I only needed just the one, anyway. Knock yourself out...

Its all yours Goats! I've had my eBay serving for the month. Hope you get it, she's a nice looking one.
I suppose we could start a rumor that it has a broken truss rod or something, that would scare off a few buyers (just joking folks). Have a great thanksgiving!

Well, you'd get the Pink P*&&% fur case you're jonesing after too......... :roflmao:
I think the white ones are more $$$ just because the color was disco'd. It was the only color I could find back in '89 when I bought mine.

5 minutes past midnight CET, and I'm still here... :)

So apparently someone goofed up with the apocalypse predictions...:roflmao:
It could still happen. It's well before midnight out here on the left coast of the USA. Then you get all the way to the International Date Line. So, there are several hours to go before the great ball of Armageddon type stuff. It could happen, y'know. I'm really worried. That's why I'll probably play with the "new" Bird for a while this evening to see what it does.

Mistergoats: Chances are if you buy that white one tonight, you will get it after the apocalypse, which means it will be more valuable. Go for it! That case looks like it has a pink satin sheet in it. Even sexier than just the pink fur!
