Thunderbird Club

Picked up my new Rola Amplifiers Bass 200HW Amp and Cab (4x12 with black widows) yesterday. It is like a Marshall Major or Super Bass but shouldn't catch fire. I was running my Rick 4001 through it with Ric-o-sound using both channels when I picked it up at the Bass Shop in Seattle. I played through it with my Lull NR when I got home. Its a killer. (the basses in the pic are not mine)

Oh. My. God. Careful with that thing, don’t want St. Helens erupting again.

Cool!

I visited The Bass Shop last week, it was Black Friday ;)

More soon.

Hwy 25. A hidden gem off the beaten path. And Pinnacles NP. I sometimes detour on it heading up or back from the Bay Area, time permitting. A very nice drive.
Totally hear ya. Perfect for fast cars. Wide, long turns, amazing scenery (nothing's changed in 100 years in fact, if you take a black and white people ask you if it's an Ansel Adams) and NO POLICE.....

Hi Thunderbird people!

I'm looking for an opinion, well and a question. First is how much a 2011 Short Scale Thunderbird should run. It seems like they were asking $1500 to over $2k, but here it looks like they sold for $1000-$1200. I know that people will pay what the market dictates, but what do you all think?

The question is, does anyone else make a short scale Thunderbird?

Thanks for any input.

You should be able to find one for $1,200 shipped. I have one and they are cool to play sitting but when I stand, which is 95% of the time, I play my 34" scales.

Played my recently completed Deadlybird at an original music power pop trio rehearsal earlier tonight and it rules! (through a 15" driver/Peavey Tour Series 450 head - not mine but it had a great dirty tone) The extension (as a reference to my earlier post #97907 addressing optimally conforming to T-birds) I made for it puts it exactly in the sweet-spot for 1st position access, balance and comfort with a 3.5" Levi's leather strap extended to full length w/o needing to loop the strap over the elbow bout.

Why? I only ask because I've been playing short scales now for almost a year. Right now I'm lead singing in addition to playing and have just found it easier. Is it that it has more neck dive than a 34"? Or something else?
