How would one slightly raise the action on the E String? I have Fret buzz at Fret 1.
That's typically the symptom of a nut cut too deep. That said, which model Thunderbird?
I'll defer to three point fans on that.
This just arrived three weeks late what do you think I should do with it?I already know what my brain is screaming as it came with no neck

Nikki Sixx Blackbird
My concern is the reason I downtuned in the first place.....action is so high because of too much neck relief....in this case down tuning feels better and probably is better.....sounds fine the way it is but the neck relief is still uncorrected.... leaving it like this is the concern. In my experience with downtuning, if you use standard gauge but downtune, before I put the bass away for the night, I would tune it back to E Standard.
On my basses that have heavy downtuned, I just leave the because the tension is about the same as if it were standard gauge standard tuning.
I am thinking you want to build a FenderBird??
If you need a neck I still have this ESP/LTD neck laying around.
For Sale - 2 Bass Necks
Nice....was just asking who else had one. Like they said raising the saddle is a short term fix, filling with glue and filler of your choice...I think that would be dependent on what already in there. Best of all is a nut upgrade....the coolest though un testeted is the Warwick just a nut 1... can adjust each nut slot up and down separately. It’s also brass. Its what I want to do with mine. The blackbird is no major feat of design....was just made to look cool as hell. Improvements welcome. Bridge, nut, pickups and maybe improved controls for those pickups.
I really appreciate having the controls out of my my way when playing...I also like that it forces me to improve amp eq skills.... since it’s the only tone option...
But what the hell is an optigrab handle I still have no idea what that’s for. You could route your patch cord from I put back through that handle then back through the strap but that has nothing to do with optimal grab...

It’s better for the bass to get used to one set tension...this isn’t the difference between E and D....it 2 and a half steps.... tuning never stables and intonation is different. It’s too extreme.
Christmas porn is looking similar. Can we say porn? Sure as hell cant say $HIT.
Always liked that comment in apocalypse now...
“We train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't allow them to write "shag" on their airplanes because it's obscene!”
We censor swearing in movies that air on cable even though the movie itself is full of drugs and murder.
That flying Vee bass is huge! It dwarfs that Marshall double stack.
Thanks. That's my Rhode Island Elder (mob boss) impersonation.@Count Bassie. Awesome new avatar!!!

You stick your pinky in the optigrab
Where do you find this 'information'?
