Thunderbird Club

Ah contraire, mon frère.

A little music room fun for the grandparents.

I probably should have had a sarcasm tag. For the many that posit that music (learning/performing) is dead amoungst teenagers the evidence of crowded music stores is at odds with the premise. Maybe they do their measurement at 2pm when teenagers are in school? My local L&M (only one source for music lessons) has more than one thousand students...

They call it ‘Celeste!’ I wish they made an Infinito in solid Celeste, but it’s still an amazing bike. It helps that a drummer I play with owns the nicest road bike shop in Nashville. I got both of my bikes for way less than either one would normally cost. “Cycling- as addictive as cocaine and twice as expensive”
Forgot to mention, I do love the solid Celeste ones.

Oh, they do that in route to wherever. On their iphones. Kids..........
Now once again, please get off of my fire escape!!!!
...for those without fire escapes...

Playing tonight at The 5 Spot in Nashville (ABP: Always Be Promoting) and fighting some kind of upper respiratory infection. I'm waiting on the doc now to see if I can get some antibiotics. I can't remember ever playing under the weather before; this will be a new experience.

I wasn't able to make rehearsal on Saturday, and the band didn't want to run the set again, so they worked out an original, which will be about the third already. So, after the show tonight we will begin transitioning to an originals band. Can't say that surprises me at all.

Just drink lots of water. Easy enough to get dehydrated performing on stage, and the complications of a respiratory infection only compounds the situation. And above all else, remember - no windmills with a Babicz.

Long boring story, but I was shopping for new mic pre amps when I remembered me and my old studio partner have 8 API 3124’s in a large lunchbox type powered case. 4 of em belong to me. Asked my old engineer if I could have em back, so I’m getting my 4 API’s back and buying his 4 for a grand. These aren’t API branded (they didn’t manufacture 3124’s except in consoles back then), but the schematics were used to the T by a genius studio electronics pal of mine. 4 of the pres are modded with John Hardy op amps for a slightly different color. So I now have 8 world class mic pres. This pleases me very much :)

folks rave about those amps...50 bucks each, worth every cent..
if I'm not mistaken, Bob Mackie based his discrete mic pre on that design..

You know, I’m not really sure. I have used these pres many times, so I know I like em and couldn’t pass up that price. At some point this year I want to up my interface or A/D game. Main contenders (this week)

Lynx Aurora (n) 8
Metric Halo LIO(?)
Antelope Dicrete 8 or Zen Tour
Possibly an Apollo 8 of some sort

very cool, nice palette of choices.....I was referring to the op-amps in particular......VERY impressive specifications....would not surprise me if they are 'quietly' being used in Aerospace or Biomedical instrumentation applications....the noise figure is stellar..

Not only kids. Was on the train yesterday morning and the conductor announced 'ladies and gentlemen, our next stop is Central. If you are not getting off at Central, please move well inside the carriages and away from the doors to allow others to leave the train. If you are not willing to do this, please at least look up from your phones so you are aware of people trying to get past you.'
