What about the guy in back of me? Now you're on his list.
Good. That in the mirror look was driving me crazy! And I'm left handed--like all the smart people!

I fear no guitar player and their little princess fingers!

I suggested to my teacher that he play left handed for lessons because it would be like looking in a mirror and could make teaching /learning easier. He told me that amoungst the teaching community it is suggested that they play left handed occasionally not for teaching, but to remind the teachers how students can struggle with things that they find easy.

Me too.
I went to Dallas (broke my Texas cherry) for a trade show - I've discovered that I'm completely capable of drinking at a Corporate level, sometimes needed in the Lighting Biz. I also found out quickly that I'd never survive there, the heat and humidity were off the &^%$*#@ chart.
Some of where I was.

Well, as long as we are sharing what we got up to on the weekend...

I paddled past the Coast Guard piers. The lower of the three is currently under water, the next highest is within a few inches of being under water. Lake Ontario has set a new record (last was 2017) and has not crested yet - there is more water from Superior, Huron, Michigan, and Erie on the way. The Iroquois dam on the St. Lawrence has increased its flow rate, but hasn't been fully opened yet.

Nah, can't live w/o my full length thumb rest.:smug:
Well, finally....someone splained to me what that crazy thing was for. I used to try to play the blasted thing.

I had one for while. Couldn't justify keeping it for the occasional use when there were other vintage basses calling my name.

I had wanted a 5 string NR 'Bird since I saw my first one. Got this one 2 years ago. I didn't particularly like the sound of the pups and was considering switching out the P pup for a TBird pup but it was gonna require major bucks and some surgery. And I still might not get the tone I want-it's not mahogany which I have found to be my favorite tonewood. I was 'bout ready to flip it when Jeff suggested the EB Cobalt Flats. I got exactly what I was looking for at much less investment. Played it this afternoon, got lotsa good comments.

Speaking of pitch shifters.... Well I'm stretching it. Does anyone ever use one to play in a different key? Seems handy when a key is changed and printed music can't be or just playing in a certain key feels better than what is being used.
Huh! Didn't know there was such an animal not built into a keyboard.

Also...tried the Colbalt Flats on my VP today. I think I'm there with strings. They sounded really good with fingers or pick. They might be the string I'm looking for. As @GonePlaid said...try using the EQ on the amp! Did that as well and with good results. normally I hardly ever do much tweeking, but it a little more mids sounded really good.

I hate to break the news, but it ain't got hot yet.

I can tell you without reservation that I was never so happy to feel the 62 degree temp and see the gray skies of Seattle upon arrival yesterday, nice folks in Texas - but that weather, no thank you!

My bandmate Ginger Chien speaking at an event in Seattle about being a part of The Nasty Habits, she is without doubt the most wonderful person, best bandmate and friend - I'm very fortunate to know her.

You'da loved the gig I did today. Noon to 4PM, 93 degrees, 'feel like' 102, sweatin' like an oldie(which I am). I actually drank water! I figure most of the beverages I drink have water as the main ingredient, but this time it was water. Weird(for me).

An Olympic pool is suitable for international swimming competition. So, is an Olympic bar one suitable for drinking competitions?

Good story, sis!
Great post. I'm glad to know you, Mark, the expression "your Grace" says a volume about you and your band. Grace is what makes strength admirable.
I'm pretty sure I speak for the whole crew here.

I knew these things from reading gazillions of books and comics as a kid. But I didn't know a barbie was anything besides a doll until I worked with an Aussie in '92.

I have a female cycling friend who did a cycling trip years ago to Australia. She was riding with mostly guys and hadn't eaten enough while on the road and remarked "Boy, I'm really bonking!" (meaning she's running out of energy from not eating something) All the guys cracked up and you probably know why.
